As the tire wears and changes, it remains balanced. Lead weights are only right when you balance them, every day you drive the tire wears and the lead weights are losing effectiveness. That's why you are supposed to rebalance them every year.
DynaBeads and CounterAct are two of the bigger names in the business. You can actually use a lot of different things, I've even heard of guys using antifreeze!
In addition to not scratching the finish of an expensive wheel, they also provide for a nice clean look. Rim weights or even stick on weights that are visible detract from the beauty of the wheel.

I'm going to add a picture of a crewcab here so Tito doesn't get mad at me for going offtopic ;>
I was going to use DynaBeads but according to their website and their tech dept that I contacted by phone, they do not work when using 19.5 wheels and tires on a pickup truck. http://www.innovativebalancing.com/P...h19.5_22.5.pdf

I love your truck! Nice job! How well do those tires work once you get off the road?

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Is it just me or am I seeing a lot of late 80s trucks with early 80s front bumpers? Or did I miss something along the way? Are people doing it on purpose to have the parking lights and turn signals down in the bumper? I don't think the factory did that in 86. Mine looks like that now, it's an 82. I've already ditched the hideous 82 egg crate grill in favor of an 87 style (my favorite), I do have a new bumper but I won't change it until I gather together the pieces to put the park/turn lights behind the grill. Just wondering. It actually doesn't look bad on any of these trucks, but I'm still changing mine because the 82 bumper is rusty and the 87 one is new.

It's only '81 and '82 that had the parking lights in the bumper like that so no, they didn't do that in '86. The bumper looks good when it's not combined with that ugly egg-crate grille. I want to use one of those bumpers myself to mount some fog lights.

I have never had them off road or in the mud but I don't think they would do well at all with the strait ribs.

I had to go with the 82 bumper when I switched from 2 to 4 headlights. The intercooler is too big for marker lights in the grille.

Thanks for the compliments everyone.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Another option is the 91 1headlight work model suburban grill. A local guy had the same issue with cooler clearance with the cummins install. Also I noticed your cummins C in the back window, I made him a decal for his truck its the Cummins C with the word Chevrolet diagonal instead. Once again nice dually Man!

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Since everyone is posting pics of complete crew cabs, here is a couple pics of my brother's rust free cab he picked up for $300. He got the frame and front suspension as well. Does anyone need any 2wd front suspension stuff? This will be a 4wd. The rear doors are beautiful and I think he got them for another $250. He purchased the DRW bed from the guy for $450 and while loading it the guy dented the RH side pretty bad and told him too bad. Then when we unloaded it, I saw the floor supports are all rusted out. It was supposed to be a rust free bed.

Yes it is. I was extremely lucky to find it for him in this state. Man, you should see his other cab. It is severely bad! I'm trying to guess the year of his new cab.............. I'm going to guess 75 or 76. Anyone else have any guesses?

Well it's definitely 73-80 with the door trim and emblems and hood hinges.

Re: How about some pics of 73-91 crew cabs

Judging by the dash trim, it is '76 or earlier. If it has an amp gauge, it is '75 or earlier. If it has the tiny opening for the wiper switch, it is 74 or earlier.

Yeah, I know it! Also check out the farmer bracket on the floor board! I'm surprised there wasn't any other weird finds on this truck after seeing that.
