Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Here are some pics of the '72 after the frame switch. It will be flat black before long. I want to lower it and rebuild the motor, and one of these days resto-rod it.
If one of the guys that photochops wants to do one of these pics I would appreciate it. Lower it about 4/6.. Thanks.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
A little progress on my stepside, the rearend, trailing arms, springs and shocks from my parts truck got swapped in, I swapped on some 16" wheels and tires, found some hubcaps at the junkyard (they're the newer style, but they look decent without the black paint). It also runs and drives now.
This place has been very helpful with lots of good info available, glad to be a part of it. |

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Here's my new project 68 LWB, straight 6 w/ 3 speed on column. Plans call for converting to short bed, air suspension, 6 lug Rally's, small block and automatic. Thinking of doing hot rod black, powdercoat the rally's red and do a black and red interior. Picked it up for $500, needs rockers and driver side floor, probably will need new doors as well. Truck came with patch panels for rockers and floor. Going to take me a couple of years to complete but looking forward to it.

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
WOW! That is one nice 72 Sierra Grande! Then again, I am partial to GMC's, having wrenched on my dad's 71 GMC swb step during the body off resto. it is the exact opposite of this. Plain Jane, 250 6 cyl, 3 spd on column, radio delete, manual brakes and steering and of course no AC. We did it because it's different. How many like that do you see restored???

Re: How about some pics of 67-72 Trucks
Just got mine this Sunday. I bought it off the second owner. They had owned it since Feb of 75. Found a bunch of stuff in the glovebox including original owners manual, warranty booklet, bill of sale when they bought it, plastic envelope the manuals came in, and the original bill of sale when the truck was bought new. The guy drove it to work everyday up until a few years ago. I'm really surprised with how good of shape its in for being drove everyday and sitting outside. Its a 6cyl 3spd on the column and radio delete.

He must have lived close to his work. That fuel tank wouldn't have taken him very far. LOL
