Re: 1969 Short Wide
Can't remember, is that a 4/6 drop? The wheels and tires look killer. Are you still planning on getting some big wheels later? I love those steel rally wheels!!! Truck looks GREAT. Congrats!

Re: 1969 Short Wide
That truck is looking RIGHTEOUS!!! love the stance & everything else about it. Must be super exciting for you after a 5 year build. I'm at 5 years myself on my '69 stepper and I can only hope it comes together as nicely as yours has.
WELL DONE SIR!!!

Re: 1969 Short Wide
That Vintage Air must be working great since the windows are up. I bet you're glad you're able to drive it around, even if you've got a few adjustments to make. What better way to find out what you need to work on, right?

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I won't be doing many more until I get the front end aligned. The rubber costs too much to wear out, it's out pretty far.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Couple of small snags this weekend. First off, I started installing the rear bumper. Turns out aftermarket mounts aren't as good as the originals I used on the front.
They have a raised area where the metal is formed, basically destroyed my new bumper when I tightened the bolts. I didn't catch it till it was too late. If I had known they were deformed, I could have just ground the high spots and repainted them.... Then yesterday I was going to start drilling the holes for the lower trim on the bed. Well, it turns out I have 2 right rear lowers. Now I'm on the hunt for a replacement NOS piece to replace it.....help. Bent bumper: Junk mounts: |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
That sucks about your bumper... I feel your pain. I'll keep an eye out for that trim piece.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Mike, where did you get your bumper brackets from? I just ordered some also and was going to put mine on this weekend. That really sucks about your bumper!!!

Re: 1969 Short Wide
That sucks about your bumper Mike, my rear brackets came the same exact way. I ground down the high spots just because I thought they looked bad. I'm glad I did after seeing that. Is there any way to pull the dent back out without further damaging the bumper?
