Re: 68' Chevy c10

I never posted any pics of the truck still together besides the first post. before I took it apart I had finished a good deal of the bodywork. In these pics I still had not done the rocker panels or the drivers fender.

Coming right along, seems like you can never get enough practice with metal work and there is always something new to learn...

Re: 68' Chevy c10

Thanks Adam, At least with classic Chevy steel you can work with it without it falling apart. That fender was in such good shape everywhere else, I didn't mind putting some extra time in to fix it.

Re: 68' Chevy c10

Finally got to do some work in the garage. too bad most of it was cleaning up/making room. I did get the alt. bracket installed. it turned out ok and I can get the valve cover off without removing the alt. bracket now.

Great looking project, nice job with all of the little details....they'll all come together and make you truck stand out once its complete. I'm in a very similar spot in my build, I look forward to progress.

Digging the build so far. Brought up a lot of detail I had not thought about. Can I ask about your sandblasting setup? Spent 3 hours trying to get my compressor and blaster to like each other...finally gave up and went to wire wheels. Blaster is going back to the store

Thanks ChevyNewb, I'll put a pic of my blaster setup on here later, but I can tell you moisture is your worst enemy when blasting. my blaster nozzle clogged up about every 3 sec. until I used a moisture trap at the gun.

I use one at the compressor and one at the tank and have run it for 6 hours straight without a hiccup... might try that as it is easier and lighter than at the gun!

Hey Adam, I have one at the tank also. I use one at the gun too as insurance. (better safe than sorry). I had a drop of water come through when I was painting one time, so I started using one at the gun, and it's never happened again.

Thanks Mike, I was laid off at the end of April, so the truck has been on the back burner. I'll keep finding time to work on her though.

Brake line for drivers side finished and installed. I was able to get the passenger side re-routed to the 85's rubber line fitting. still need to mount pass. lines to the X-member.

Nice job bending those lines. I would end up making a bunch of useless bent up tubing. Ha.

Here's a little more progress. not really pic worthy stuff, but I take pics of everything. The first two are before and after (new chrome under mount fuel line).
