Re: Big Red Dog

Yeah, as said above, that red looks nice on the 66. Assembled and detailed it will pop.

You are moving at a phenomenal pace and everything looks great. I see in the last photo that my project has encompassed the entire garage. Soon Troy, soon.

Yes it has and it has also brought me to realize I need a shop dedicated for this stuff! Talking to the wife about maybe building a dedicated body/paint shop... I was going to paint today but it got real humid and that's not ideal for laying clear so maybe tomorrow...

Well, yeah.

I'm at work showing off your work. Spraying clear on a rainy day in Houston was why I asked you how the humidity affected a spray.

Re: Big Red Dog

Well I can say this if the humidity is high the clear will get cloudy and if doesn't buff out.. Plus I got a slow reducer to help everything melt togather on an 80+ degree day. We will see how tomorrow goes...

Glad I could help lol! I 2k prime, seal, base clear! Sealer is supposed to help paint cover better and it acts as a barrier to the primer so no bleed through.

Re: Big Red Dog

No problem Dave! I've enjoyed working on it until my issues today but they too will be ok just a few more hours of work. I worked from 10-3pm on it today and just kinda went nuts on it. The next few days it will really start to pop. The front clip could be put togather and back to you if we can figure out transport. All I need to do is wetland and buff the fenders and top of grill backer and its ready to go. I've got to figure out where I can put the good down to wetsand and buff it! Don't trust the stands to handle me rubbing it. Good news is we're getting close....

How much for the keystone clear? Whose base? Nason is 130 a gal. The word is, that southern polyurethane stuff is really killer.

I priced nason and it was $235 for this red and they are 8-1 mix vs omni 1-1. The keystone clear was $190 with hardner! I've heard of a lot of guys using transtar clear but I stuck with what I know product wise..
