Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I can't even think of a good enough complement for how your truck is looking with that paint. Second, are those 33 or 35 inch tires on there now? Third, I have been working with my bother on building a crew cab for him, and your truck is his trucks idol!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
It looks outstanding. If it was mine it would get white wheels if it was getting stock style. But I would probably get polished aluminum anyway.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Spent two hours installing door handles - twice as many as your average 69-70 truck owner. After installing them realized the offshore parts that I used (ie the gaskets) look like %*@^ so I redid them using a high grade automotive silicone which I feel will be a better seal and looks whole bunch better. See for yourself.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Here are some more pics of progress as of today. Things are coming along quite nicely and quickly. Note to self - never ever take clearance light harness out of truck. Took me almost three hours to feed it back through.
Also regarding the clearance lights, if you guys have not been able to figure it out yet the only thing chinese I like is food. I go down to my local Chevy dealership to order the base gaskets and lens, mine are fine but I like new, they had three in stock, I ordered 7 more because I have two trucks with clearance lights. Got home only to find that the base gaskets that I bought at the Chevy dealership were made in China. Needless to say I was incredibly disappointed. They will have to do for now until I can find an NOS. The lens that I ordered are suppose to be made in the US of A I told them that if they came back and did not say made in the USA that I would not buy them at $18.00 a piece. Oh by the way the interior of my truck is so cool and comfortable. I had 6 emblems made that say "crewcab" so I will be putting the custom crewcab emblem on my glovebox. Have not picked them up but have seen them, they look very authentic.

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
Finished repairing the rust in the bed today. Sprayed the inside of the bed with zero rust in preparation for the color matched spray in liner. Reinstalled bed on truck. I don't think the chrome will be as big of a deal as I originally thought. (Getting closer every day)

Looks awesome and I'll definitely be doing silicone on the next lock/handle set I install...I thought about it before but after seeing it done....it's a no-brainer!

Very nice job! I have to quit looking at your thread! I had made my mind up to not try to build a crew 67-72, but I can't quit looking at yours!

Re: 67-72 Chev Crewcab Build
I have been very fortunate on putting together the front of this truck, have not needed many shims or adjustments. I'm pretty happy with the way this truck has turned out.
I'm waiting for the chrome to finish up and put in the fender wells. Looks like fender wells will be the last thing in. I have my steel wheels painted, hubcabs need to be restored and I'm going to buy new beauty rings from Mar-k. Still need to strip and paint the tailgate and spray in the bedliner. Can't wait to get started on the next three cabs. After this build they will be a cake walk.
