Re: 4X4 Action Pix
Sorry didn't get any pics because wanted to hit the mud bog at 1 in the morning and messed the yoke in the front up trying to go the quick way too it by hitting a rock with my foot to the floor and not letting off once i hit. but i got about 3/4 the way through the bog 2wd.

Re: 4X4 Action Pix
I was asking johny, I figured you didnt have your 4wd working, otherwise you wouldve went through that like nothing. In johny's second vid you see him hit the bog and slow down till he stops, then it looks like he throws it in 4wd and just shreds out

Re: 4X4 Action Pix
Yep! I thought I could make it in 2wd. Later that day the mud got so thick that I stuck the truck so bad that it wouldnt even turn the tires in reverse.

Re: 4X4 Action Pix
First I have a bord 454 not a 502, second RB has a LS2 I belive and the HUGE paddels. His SBC is massively fast and an auto. I am shifting an SM465 so
I was very proud of my rig. It pulls HARD and is tons of fun out there

^ I was thinking, more like the paddles beat him,and that thing is built for pismo!...pretty close second.I see your rooster tail.
EDIT:People still drive into the ocean???...can`t fight impulse...see waves...must drive into...... Reminds me of a toddler.Set`em down and they run right into it,get knocked down, and come running back crying with a yucky look on their face from their first taste of sand and salt.

I guess so, first timmers probly. I bet he will never do that again! The rule is you don't drive in the water/ocean at Pismo. Hard on parts and the greenies will cry enviromental disaster

Re: 4X4 Action Pix
Hey Burt, I have never been to Pismo before I mostly go to Ocotillo, Azusa or local hills close to me off the 15fwy in El Cajon pass. I have herd many good stories and seen many pics and would really like to check it out in the hot months. I've also herd that its alot smaller than it used to be and its tough to get a spot, would you have any info. that may help me on getting a spot to camp and do some Wheelin' over a weekend?
Like your K5 really looks and sounds like a blast! Thanks!

Ya, The area is shrinking because of the greenies trying to save a ground nesting bird so alot of the back dunes are closed. It's still fairly large, large enough to get lost at night hahahaa I recomend getting a camping reservation at http://www.reserveamerica.com/ Any of the big weekends you will need to buy months in advance as they only alow so many campers on the dunes per night. There are RV parks out on the pavement too but you cannot drive offroad viehicals from the RV park to the dunes so camping on the sand is the only way to doit with quads or whatever.. The offical name is Oceano Dunes SVRA

Re: 4X4 Action Pix
My buddy took thease and he missed the "action" shot. If you look at the first pic and look at my approch to the little bunny hill = no tire tracks. Then the second pic behind me you see the tracks. Well that is the Pismo Bump = approch said bump + floor it as soon as the front axel touches = Front end off the ground and hood pointing skyward But obviously the action shot was missed by just a second

Re: 4X4 Action Pix
full size chevy on fordyce...ftw??
The View from the top of the mountain... Always gotta stop here and let the adrenalin settle.. take in the scenery and shoot the sh1t with fellow friends of fordyce... We took eagle lakes road to fordyce creek trail from hiway 80 just below sysco grove. And last but not least, the rig we went with. This little yota did better than I thought it would up there, with IFS I was pretty sure I was gonna see him lay it over. He managed to get quite a bit of flex out of it.. the chopped bed helps. The season is young, plenty more action to come... There is much more video of this trip than pictures, I will be sure to post when I get a chance.. |
