Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
It got rear shocks, an antenna (the ford radio actually works now, except its only am so its religious or political talk radio stations) a wash under the armpits and of course the essentials on the back window, and it was off to beaches last night.

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Ok, quick update. I have been slammed with stuff over the last month. This weather is perfect for keeping busy. The first 66 has taken a slight back seat to the blue truck for now. I needed to get the blue one legal and running good so I could use her as a daily driver. I'm pleased to say, she is legal and runs like a dream. Took her to Vancouver for the cruise last sat. She even lit up the tires a few times.
Now on to the latest news. I will be the proud owner of a 1964 C10 Long Fleet this coming thurs/Fri. Bought and lived in Eastern Oregon and was trailerd here in 95 and has been garaged since. I will post pics of her a.s.a.p. It's a 6 with 3 on the tree. Virtually rust-free. I believe they need to have a CTA meeting for guys like us. Chev Trucks Anonymous. LOL

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Went over to try and get the 64 running last night. Put a new battery into her and some gas and it looks like she has a fuel delivery issue. LOL. blocked gas line from the tank. I guess we will trailer her home and then strip the tank and get it all cleaned out and good. Otherwise, she appears to be fully functional. Bad ground in the tail-lights, but that is to be expected. Going to Napa this morning for the carb rebuild kit for the single barrel. NAPA Part no. 2-5194A if anyone is interested in finding one. My buddy Thom is gifted with carb rebuilding if anyone out there needs one done. Old school NHRA guy with a lot of experience. More pics to come, when I get the ol girl back to the house.

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Thx Chizzler!! Yeah, we towed it home and cleaned the goop out of the fuel piclup, and she fired right up. Not even a shudder. Runs great. Shifts good and seems to be good. Slight leak at the donut, but otherwise good. I'm thinking green for this one. Its the Irish in me. This truck is super straight. Little or no dings, or rust. I couldn't find any even on thusual spots on the hood. So, I'm thinkin bout just swapping her on to me clean frame and dropping the 8 banger into her. We will see. Pics will be loaded tomorrow.

Re: Irish's 1966 LWB Fleetside
Got all of my motor work done yesterday. Plugs, points, wires, oil etc. Also did some exhaust work. The PO had obviously removed the exhaust at some stage and put the flange on backwards where the pipe meets the manifold. What made it worse was, they put a donut in there too, so it was leaking like a SOB. I replaced all that and the intake/exhaust manifold gasket. the 2 furtest most bolts don't appear to be bolts on this motor. I have to figure out if they are just locating studs or if the two bols are toast. Still have an exhaust leak at the head, so I will get back into that after work today.
The grill was super straight and no visible dings or nicks. Removed, primered and painted. Looks a lot better now. Here's a sneak peak at the colour. Remember, this is trad rat rodding with a twist of Irish to it.
