Re: Show me your 67-72 4x4 Suburbans!

There are no numbers for GMC. The rumor is they disappeared in a fire.

Certainly the numbers are less than the Chevrolet numbers of 166 1/2 ton 4x4 units.

There's far fewer GMC dealers.

Thanks Bigdav160. This one came factory black with black interior, attached is pic of original SPID. I did add some factory correct upgrades while I was working on it, added the deluxe trim package interior and exterior with front sport bucket seats/console with correct under floor bracing and second rear seat, rear AC that has roof tunnel to front, stainless hubcaps on 16" steel wheels, front tow hooks, and a transfer case skid plate. I'm still doing some finishing up work on it but it is drivable now. Not sure what door mirrors I want to use yet, was thinking small sport ones but it came with the white painted camper mirrors.

Re: Show me your 67-72 4x4 Suburbans!

Question then. Do you move the seat belt attachment points?

I installed buckets and console also but really dislike the inside seat belt attachment points being so far rearward.

I really didn't pay that much attention until you mentioned it. I guess you could relocate the underfloor mounting nut forward for preference if desired. I've done harder jobs before. My concern was the second row seat being the full width one, it has the arm with ashtray. It is a little tight to enter third door with that arm on it. I know people are bigger now than they were in the 70's, lol. It will be fine for kids or better fit adults than me.

Re: Show me your 67-72 4x4 Suburbans!

Hey guys, thus is probably a lame question but I need help figuring out how to post pictures. I click the icon and it says to post the link where the image can be found.

Please advise.

Dont use the image use the paperclip. You will then be prompted to attach a file (the location in your computer) Then upload the photo.
I had the same issue when first trying to include photos , hope this helps

I don't see a paperclip anywhere. I'm using an android phone... perhaps It's necessary to use a desk/laptop to post pics.

Wow...what killer picture! That's awesome -

Makes me want to post this one of my non-ac 4x4 in Death Valley...not too far outside of Stovepipe. Driving it from Sacramento to Houston end of July!

Very nice.
What size tires are you running? How much lift?
Brings back memories.

Tires are 35x12.5x20. The lift is 4" front and back, although i have 6" front springs to level it out better. Thank you though

Thumbs up Re: Show me your 67-72 4x4 Suburbans!

Bramante, I love the wheels (rims) you have on your sub! Would you happen to know who the manufacturer is on those? I am finding it is hard to find good looking 20" 6 lug wheels that accommodate manual locking hubs these days.

Re: Show me your 67-72 4x4 Suburbans!

Hi all, I haven't been on board for quite some time. Work and every day life seems to take up so much time. Really looking forward to retirement in Aug. 2018
Now for the news, I found this 72 C10 Suburban on CL the week before Thanksgiving and ended up buying it the Sat. after Tday. The link is to the sellers original ad on classiccarsdb.com. and the pics are from that ad. They were asking crazy money for it but circumstances and no buyers dictated a much lower price. I now have it home, titled in my name and insured, so the fun can now begin. Looking forward to solving the minor issues it has and driving it.

http://classiccardb.com/chevrolet/33...custom-10.html

Let me know what y'all think and I'm certain I'll be asking for help along the way.
Thanks for all the goodness you all provide. You make the interweb fun.
