Re: '68 c10 build

Got a couple of days last week to work on the truck. Got a handful of things accomplished. First, we got the hood installed. It fits pretty good, but we will most likely end up cutting the passenger side fender to make it fit the hood a little better at the nose. We ordered new hood hinges and springs to try them before we cut anything though.

Re: '68 c10 build

I also got a new booster installed. We had initially used an original style one and it was hideous looking. I know this isn't real exciting, but I fab'd up a little mounting bracket which attached to the original hardware on the firewall.

Re: '68 c10 build

Monday I ordered the harness for the truck, and the harness for the ls. I also sent the computer off to get it flashed. Should be running in the next month or so.

Yes, they came from AMD. I think I would just leave it the way it is but we will most likely pie cut it and make it fit a little better.

Did you cut your fender or leave it?

Haha, you sound like my dad. I want to tell him the only people that would notice are people at car shows and the hood will be open then.

Had the same problem on my previous build, I ended up cutting both the fenders and the hood to make it perfect

I had same problem with my aftermarket fenders. We cut the spot welds moved fenders in and then re spot welded them.

Have you tried loosening the core support and moving it to the drivers side a little. I did this to mine.

Yes, we've loosened everything from core support to cab and made the necessary adjustments to get the gaps adjusted correctly. The issue is in the radius of the front fender, not the gap.

Re: '68 c10 build

Despite it being slow, progress is still progress. I recently managed to spend a few days working on the truck.

My wiring kit came in and I started working on it. The kit I ordered was from American Autowire. This was my first attempt at wiring a vehicle and let's just say I was quite intimidated. Despite that, it was fairly straight forward and went together smoothly. The worst part was cutting the hole in the firewall to fit the fuse box. I wish I had known I was going to have to do this before painting it. I have pretty much everything done from the cab forward minus a few things (AC, Guage Cluster, stereo).

Re: '68 c10 build

We recently changed plans on the wing window fiasco and ordered a new set. The passenger side is all in. I had to send the driver's side back because it came all scratched up and still waiting on it.

I also rebuilt the gauge cluster. I think it looks pretty nice. Waiting on a new circuit board and I will install it.

Re: '68 c10 build

Here are a couple of pics right after I finished wiring the front of the truck. All the lights work. I know one parking light was off in one pic and brighter in another. I was fighting that connection but I got it all fixed now.
