Hello nice build was just had some questions about the roll cage and bracing you added like what spec cage is this going to be and would you be willing to make a kit like bend some bars and cut them to mimic what you have

Hello Isaiah, Thank you! I worked to the 25.3 SFI spec, but really don't want to install a funny car cage for street use. Maybe some day when it's tuned to go that fast I'll put it in. Sorry but really don't have the time to put a kit together... this project is just a hobby. My day job leaves me little time as it is to work on it.

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)

Have you checked with Art Morrison? They can make mandrel bent rect tube frames for these trucks. I don't know about a cage though. They aren't that far from you.

If you have a tube bender you might take a look at the Bend Tech bending software. They do have a roll cage module with many templates and you just enter your desired measurements and it gives you a parts list with lengths, bend positions and notching info. Or you can also design your own in the assembly interface.

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)

Bend Tech does not have templates for specific vehicles. You just pick the design you want and then input your dimensions. Then the software will give you a parts list with cut lengths, notching and bending locations and degrees.

Do they have templates for a 25.3 with a stock/modified frame I'll buy it as long as I am not going to waste money

Hi Isaiah,

Give this company a call AUTOWELD
... think they might be able to get you enough of the cage to get you started.

Ok haven't updated in a bit because it would appear that not much was done. Lots of finish welding was completed and added something new! Fabbed up and mounted a 4130 removeable drive shaft tunnel... boy that was fun.

Re: 66 Pro Street Build (Domeringer)

Might have to change the name to Overkill, suits the truck.
This build makes me smile bigger everytime you accomplish something else.
Nice work, so is the drive shaft cage/tunnel required?

Thanks again my friend... LOL yea it does look like it's going that Overkill way. Well is it required? I intend to have the center of the floor removable for maintenance. Could have got away with just a loop and the oem floor. But as long as I have access to do it now... why not. Here's the rule

Pretty much sums it up at this point... we'll put that LS power to it and see what happens.

Anything else happen on this build? Is it done? I'm hanging by a thread here!!! Hahaha. Beautiful truck. What materials did you use for your frame rails? I'm gathering parts for my 62 grudge/pro street build as I'm typing.

Thank you... been a busy few months at work and home so the project progress has stalled a bit. I have been able to do some work on it and will post some picks this weekend.

The rectangular pieces are 1/8 X 2 X 6. The flat stock for boxing the frame rails is 1/8 also.
