bigfoots are sweet campers, would have liked to got one, but around here they don't come up for sale often, & when they do they, it seems like their priced like the Airstreams of the trailer world .... just hope that place stays remote (no names given....) used to be rough old logging roads in, but a few months ago the power company did a number on some of them to get their equipment in, do-able in most anything now- curse or blessing? |

Re: post up your camping pics
Here's a link for the roll bar mount I have.
http://stuntcams.com/shop/gopro-hd-r...5ce39ea2fb4056 You can see it comes with a couple of links to add so you can set the camera up square. As far as music with your video, the Gopro software will allow you to import any music you have into your video. Takes a little time to play around with it, but the software is pretty easy to use .

You'll know it's happening as it will stop the process to post the video. It will stop it and advise you and suggest some similar generic music.

great place to ride. sadly i killed my beloved 12 yr old canon sure-shot
battery's in the go-pro died, so i switched to one handed riding bs again & was video'ing the fam damily in a field, raced ahead for a better shot....did'nt see the half buried log in the grass......on the plus side i got a vid of the camera's last few seconds of life......(but wife does not want it posted, she's in it-bummer!) |

Re: post up your camping pics
thanks Gov!
your Great White is looking mighty fine! my son was a little perturbed i did'nt take him up mt cheam with me last june, so a few weeks later, we hit the mountain again for an almost 70 yr old mutt (in doggie yrs), dieseldawg was raring to go again, but near the top his age started catching up, he went & laid in the snow for 15 minutes, and we only had to go threw snow this time if we felt like it it was easier this time with no snow, but for some reason it seemed steeper..... |

Re: post up your camping pics
my son & me went on a very special hike today.
a little background, back in 1956, a North Star (DC-4) took off from Vancouver BC with extra fuel in case it could'nt land at Calgary. just up the road from us when it was near Hope, an engine caught fire. it turned around to head back to Vancouver but turned the wrong way & slammed into the east side of Mount Slesse at a hi rate of speed (with extra fuel .... )the plane & all 62 people on board literally disintegrated, they hit about 200 ft from the top, some pieces flew up on top of the mountain, the rest tumbled 2000 ft down the mountain. it is a extremely remote area, with no access, it took 5 months to find the wreckage. it truly is a moving place.... https://oddvinvedo.wordpress.com/201...-vs-mt-slesse/ http://www.canada.com/story_print.ht...5-367caab211cc Mount Slesse, or as we locals call it "the Fang". about 15 yrs ago i came up the west side on Razorback ridge ( dont need ropes) & found no wreckage. that route has been closed off since some major slides. we decided to go up the east side where the North Star hit, without ropes though, we're not going to the very top this time. in '95 our guvment finally made it an offical grave site, & whacked a half-assed trail up about 1/2 way, & put up a memorative plaque. the trail ( if you can call it that) goes past the plaque a small way, then your on your own, the immense snows change & wipe the mountain every yr the road is in horrible shape, had to pick our way over 3 slides, & that hill is steeper than it looks, did'nt want the truck wandering off.... at the start, you can just see Slesse over the trees. cool little bridge... |

Re: post up your camping pics
the plane hit about 200 ft from the top, when we got closer, you can still see scars 60 yrs later
you can really see where the snow comes down Crossover at about 6000 ft, & my 10 yr old fart is still hanging in there, he was a little sore & tired when we got home |

Re: post up your camping pics
that's Station D peak beside Slesse
we're sneaking up on Slesse, the last 1500 ft or so were TOUGH! no trails & we're bushwacking right up the side of the mountain, this was a hard climb almost at the base of the Slesse spire, without ropes, we're not going up it |

Re: post up your camping pics
we made it to the base. the rock is all worn smooth around it. if we had more time, i'm pretty sure we could get across to Crossover, then up Razorback, but we also know a storm is blowing in later in the day-not the place to be....
there's also about a 600 ft drop along the way, & nuts, i dont have dawg's leash again.... at first i was like "what the ......some idiot packed up some paint !?" 'till i got closer- mother nature's graffiti looking up the spire. it was very humbling being there, looking where the plane hit, where it landed, pieces of people still on the mountain, we came across small pieces of DC-4. my son & me never talked, it was just like, i dont know, nothing needed to be said, the granduer of the place, & the tragic-ness of it... |

Re: post up your camping pics
just wandering around the base
the propellar cairn, one of flight 810's. some people put what they find there, others leave it where it is. what we saw, we left where it was i thought the last paragraph on the plaque was very poignant & appropriate. |

Re: post up your camping pics
Found myself a camper , quite well equipped with a/c, furnace, bathroom with shower and outdoor shower. Installed a 40 w solar panel and also put in a 1500w inverter so can live pretty much off grid. More of a 'glam'per then a camper, but it is wife approved !
