Actually I have a rigorous routine when installing/prepping a motor/accessories but I thought it sounded funny.

Re: 69 cst-10

That is some funny stuff.... I may have to redo some of my brake piping. The prop valve has a small leak from the Master Cyl to the prop valve on one of the fittings. I tightened it down but still leaking a little. Also need to get a new flex hose for the pass side front. Plugged up somehow, can not get it to flow. little crap always pops up to slow ya down.

Re: 69 cst-10

Yea, ill be trying something. Just me being lazy and getting POed because it is not just working perfectly like that ever happens. a week or two and it should be ready to smoke em. When i get POed i just start her up and it puts a smile on my face. It has been ideling at about 800 rpms

Update, I decided to turn on the engine, you know vacume assisted brakes, and bam it cleared out that plug fast. So lots of fluid on the floor but i was pumped. And just a little more tightening (more then id like with brass) and all the leaks are gone.

Re: 69 cst-10

So i moved the large fuel filter from the firewall to the frame rail. That stopped the damn leak i have been freaking out about. So no fuel leaks or Brake fluid leaks. Just need to finish the wiring i have been putting off and ill be good.

Re: 69 cst-10

From what i can tell, they are. I have not driven it yet but when the engine is running they have tons of pressure (like they should). Im happy with them ATM.

Re: 69 cst-10

Ill worry about the handles after it is driving. Seat is from here. I thought i ordered the American lowback but when i picked it up it was the American Classic. It still looks good, i just removed the headrest. I didnt feel like waiting another month for it. was about $1k... Im happy...

Re: 69 cst-10

I have the biggest smile ever. Just a quick in and out of the garage after the seat install and the shifter hook up i was ready to get down. Im thinking i have about a 3000 rpm stall or maby the trans is cold but its working. Only touched the throttle and it left these. i didnt want to go crazy.

Re: 69 cst-10

So i tried to move it after i got the shifter hooked up and it didnt move. was about 3k before it started to crawl. I had to shift in and out of reverse before it moved. when it did it was really slow at 3k. Im a bit scared that ill need another trans but i know it is just cold. Ill have to let it warm up for a bit next time.

Re: 69 cst-10

Hmmm, this is an old tranny? Are you SURE you got enough fluid in it?

It would be awful hard to cruise around any with a 3000rpm stall unless you leave it in 2nd.

Re: 69 cst-10

I thought of that. Im going to start her up and let it run for a few min next time then try it out. Ill check the fluid then also. Today was just a quick test to FEEL HER UP. Im sure she is a little low on fluid but ill do that when it is all warmed up. Trans has a cleaning up about two years ago.

Re: 69 cst-10

Dont you love spending hours working on something like electrical wires and you cant get it fixed? Then a day or weeks later, you walk in and just turn on the ignition and hit the lights and BAM it all works... HAHA I just laughed about that. Getting irritated about the lighting not working and this morning i get off work and drink a beer and go hit the ignition and lights pop on. Can not believe it.

Re: 69 cst-10

Took it for a little trip around the apartment complex today, talk about looks of discuss. I dont think they like BBC with just headers and mufflers with no piping. This biaaatch is nasty. Just a touch at about 1k that bumpes the RPM's to 3000 was making it lay sideways. didnt go crazy just a little on and off. Got to tear apart the pump again. Something must have got in it and wedged between the gear and housing. Im debating on replacing it already or just moving the 10 micron filter to just before the pump and replacing the 40 micron. IM SO FREAKING PUMPED.
