Re: 1969 Short Wide
Thanks Jojo! You need to go, but don't stop working on your project like me because of it. I have fished every Saturday for about 2 months it seems. Won't really see any change until it gets really hot here.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Fishing is bad...but a great stress reliever.
We're a little less than half way done with the body work on the 86.....I forgot how time consuming that crap is. I promise to get something done on this project as soon as the paint is complete on the 86. |

Re: 1969 Short Wide
For me working on the truck is a stress reliever.
Fishing would take too much effort for me at this point in my life (I work too much). I will say that I really enjoyed it when I was a kiddo! You mentioned killer ideas? What do you have planned?

Re: 1969 Short Wide
I would like to make some more modern modifications to the interior of the cab and suspension. Not sure on specifics but I have some ideas about sound deading and softening the surroundings of driver. I have seen some really nice custom leathers....not sure that will be in the budget but like I said I have some ideas.

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Nothing as far as progress goes. We have been totally focused on the 86. I have been gathering parts though. I scored a complete Vintage Air setup from an Ebay seller New in the box. And a few other misc. parts. I am going to hit this one hard again. Not sure if I am going to wait until I add on to the shop though. I get sick of pulling the boat out to work on anything in my shop. Should have built it 30 or 60 or heck 80 feet wider and deeper

Hey Mike, have you started on your LS harness? Or are you thinking about sending it in to get it reworked?

Re: 1969 Short Wide
Well, I want to media blast the frame and crossmembers. I picked up one of those portable blasting carts. Just need to get some glass/sand. Then, I will paint the frame, front and rear end.
Thursday I ordered all the new front steering and suspension parts. I still need 2" drop springs for the front. Hope to hit it hard and heavy next week. Hard to believe how slow things go when strapped for cash always this time of year. |
