carb is simple to remove, unhook the fuel line, vacuum lines, cables, and the remove the 4 bolts or nuts and gently pull it off and wrap it up in a towel to keep the dirt out

yes I have, first remove the heater hose,radiator hose water neck remove a little antifreeze from the intake, carb, distributor, and remove the bolts and then the intake, and also the valve cover may need to come off

i can do all of that but im afraid of the distributor. dont wanna change the timing or mess somthing up with that

just take off the distributor cap first, and mark where your rotor is pointing, and when u put it back in make sure its facing the same way

also mark the body of the distributor, the way its facing, i usually mark where the vaccum advance is pointing

oops forgot about the timing issue, when I did it I took the intake off a junk motor and put it on my motor so the distributor wasn't a issue

today I bought two new front tires for my truck rides and handles a lot better doesn't rattle me to death on the highway any more

I finished cleaning up the dash and sprayed some self etching primmer on it and to close up the holes I'll be using air ducting tape

If possible, while you have the dahs off, could you snap of pic of where you used the air duct tape to seal off the water from getting in behind your cowl?
