Thanks a bunch everyone! Like I said I am so happy just to drive it and the show was the icing on the cake. There are a few things that need to be completed and I have a few things to take up with the painter, but for the most part it's complete. I will post interior pics when I get the carpet installed. The door panels and glass will be some of the last things I do.

To say that I am excited would be an understatement. Every time I sit behind the wheel I just smile. I have always believed that great things come to those who work hard and never quit. This project helped burn that into my brain but also taught my son and other children that you can do anything with patience, learning, and hard work. I will never forget the first time he heard the truck start. It was cold outside and my girlfriend went to pick them up and bring them home. I waited in the truck in the garage until he opened the door and with open exhaust I let it rip.... The smile and giggle was priceless!!!

Re: My First
Wicked! I love the way it turned out, I love the green interior, your giving me ideas about doing somthing similar.
What paint did you use for flat black? turned out super... I wanna redo mine, its faded a little, over time from sun and washing. Love this truck man, it totally what i would go for, im kinda jealos lol. I love my 81 but the older models are just to sweet, specialy bagged and grounded! |

Re: My First
Simply perfect in my eyes! I think that creamy white you have on the inner bedsides would look pretty trick on the interior. Especially with an extreme gloss finish to it

Re: My First
I love it! I've always preferred a rear bumper versus a roll pan, but now you have me second guessing myself.

Re: My First
Hey Matt how ya doing? I was thinking about how your truck was coming together on the way home from the body shop last night. The guy at the body shop has a little bit more work to do and the parts will be in final primer. The next step is to put the entire body on the chassis and make sure it all fits correctly. THen it will get painted. Your truck looks great! I bet your son enjoys every drive you get to take together. I am hoping if things keep going well that I can be driving mine next year. I have purchased a few Porterbuilt items and they look great on the truck. Stay in touch!

Re: My First
I have decided to install One piece door glass kit from One Piece Products. I am looking for some feed back as to how well they work and if they are worth the money. If anyone has installed these windows on their truck let me know how you like them.
Thanks

Re: My First
Not much progress unless you consider adding mileage to the odometer progress
I have been working out of time so much that I haven't had much time for anything. I did purchase a new dash pad and installed a new tonneau cover. I will get some pics and more updates soon. Thanks for keeping me in check!
