Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

The gauge setup arrived yesterday from Dakota Digital. Havent had time yet to start the install, but will be sure to post up pics when i get it in.

Also, i managed to get the radiator support sprayed yesterday. I tried out Eastwoods 10-20% Ceramic Underhood Black, which is a single stage urethane, and it layed out nicely . Has the perfect sheen to match the factory finish.

Hey Bowtie468,

I just started a post looking for pics of the DD gauges and I see you just picked them up. Where did you get them?

I think I am going to go with the red carbon fiber. What are you using for knobs?

Chapster , I picked them up on EBay from Phoenix Tuning in SC. Great price , free shipping !!! And great to do business with ! As for the knobs, I'll probably machine a set to match the Vintage Air knobs for the a/c panel .

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

So after seeing the headers and how they fit, I went and picked up a set for my self. Now I would love to see how you ran the rest of the exhaust piping please! I try to see it from the video but it was hard to see any detail like size and routin, and if your too far along and it a pain to get pics of it it is ok. I love the build

The truck is looking fantastic.
And I'm jealous of the gauge set.
Great attention to detail.

Yes, it's nice to see that slight flicker of light down the tunnel. We are planning to bring it to the Gulf coast in October for CTC.

We are still working on the front clip at the present. Everthing has been properly fitted and gapped. lots of blocking to go then cover them in black base. A good portion of the wiring is complete as is the Dakota instrumentation. No current pics of that other than what i had posted previously.

New body side molding arrived from Mar-K and we started getting it installed so as to not drill into fresh paint more than we have to. I must say that i'm pretty stoked with their moldings. Fit and quality is dead on. Good 'ole American craftsmanship !!!

A few pics of the moldings..

Looks great! I look forward to seeing it at the 2012 CTC. Where do you plan on staying? I thought about camping along the BLVD this year....

Rob, just about all of LCTC, along with a few of the Tenn. Zoo Crew, will be staying in Ocean Springs this year . It's great to camp right on the beach . Every year they talk about not allowing that, but its yet to happen.

Do you have to pay or do you just pitch a tent?

Re: Bowtie468's Extreme '68 BuildPage

We will be in a motel . But a lot of people just park their camper or motor home wherever they can just off the highway . I can't say I've seen anyone in a tent, that wind can be pretty harsh at times. One of our guys literally got his NOS front grille sandblasted on the run to Bay St Louis !

BTW... I'll be listing my 29" S/R's in the parts section pretty soon. They are brand new tires and have only been mounted on the wheels.
sorry but I'm a bit confused buy this, I assume it might be a typo, but I gave MT a call as I am planning on upgrading to 20" billet specialties for the rear. MT doesn't make a 31x16R20 tire, did you mean 31x18R20 by chance? and also you said you are using 20x12 rims, which I assume is right since Billet specialties only make 12's or 15's.. anyway, your setup is awesome, and I am planning on a similar path, I just wanna make sure it's correct, because Mikey T says I can't mount a 12" wide rim on the 29x15R20 tires(approved for only 13-14)... but if you did then I guess I can too! unless you have 15" wide rims?

I bought Chris's 29x15x20s and mounted them on 20x14 Coys. I'm not a tire guy but looking at them mounted I feel like they would be fine on a 12-13" wheel.

Not long after I bought my 31x16x20 S/R's, MT decided to discontinue that size . So not sure what I'll do when it comes time for new ones .

Mike is correct , the 29x15x20 will fit nice on a 12" wheel
