Re: Lets see those BUDDY BUCKETS!!!!!!!

That is a great question. Both this set and the set I traded for it had only one tilting seat. In both cases, the tilting seat was on the driver side. It might make more sense to put the tilting seat on the passenger side to improve access to the jack and accessories. I would have a heck of a time getting to that stuff right now. I'd probably have to reach behind the passenger seat from the driver side.

Re: Lets see those BUDDY BUCKETS!!!!!!!

I have 2 sets. One set does not have a tilting seat while both seats tilt on the other set. Never had a set where only one seat was a tilt. Interesting...

Interesting, indeed. Maybe mine got mismatched at some point. They both still had the original upholstery on them, and the upholstery was the same style on both seats. I took a closer look at the photos I took of the original foam, and the upper foam is different on the two seats. The folding seat has ridges along the bolsters, whereas the rigid seat is smooth. Also the folding seat foam has GM-22 molded into it. These two seats must be mismatched.

A few people in the following thread said they have original '67 seats that tilt only on the driver side.

I have an NOS set going on my buddies as soon as I get them reupholstered. I had a set in a truck years ago that had them mounted, and posted pics back then. That thread is probably over 10 years old and buried way back.

That really looks sharp, Pat.
Whatever possessed you to blackout the B-Pillars, upper door frames and windshield bow?
It's different, I'll grant you.
Is your Orange Stepside's new nickname ''Rocky Raccoon''?

That was done by a previous owner. I'm not particularly fond of it. I'll likely repaint it orange at some point.

OK. Guess I never noticed.
It looks allright, and matches the black interior and seats.
That would not be a good color choice for someone [like me] living in the SW Desert where Solar Radiation is amplified to a viscious level.

I over looked this post that there are different "stow" buckle retainers for trucks and cars. I see this now after opening this NOS box. At least they didn't cost to much.

Re: Lets see those BUDDY BUCKETS!!!!!!!

Interesting, right at the bottom of this thread people are talking about these "stow" things for the buddy bucket set belts. But the parts shown don't seem correct or at least only 1/2 correct?

From the truck's assembly manual the two are different - one for female to "click" in and the then male to "slide" in? Or am I looking at the assembly manual wrong?

The "stow" things on the buddy bucket console are male, and receive the female shoulder belt (if so equipped) for the driver and passenger.

I count myself lucky the PO reupholstered & installed the buddy buckets in my 72. Considering what it costs to acquire & restore these, it was about 15% of what I bought my truck for!

I was looking at the Slosh Tubz option too and it's 1500 just for the frame. Which isn't a bad deal but then you have to get it upholstered too after that.

Re: Lets see those BUDDY BUCKETS!!!!!!!

Well I scored a set of those buckle holders off eBay - though I want to figure out how to use them for the buddy seatbelts (male/female). Those are always getting hidden in the back / between the seats. While I understand they are for the shoulder belts, mine are the modern type I installed and not factory ones.

Repop'ed Buddy Bucket Center Seat brace from Classic Bowties. Kind of blends in with Cab Back/Tank carpet.

To do: Strap and Buckle Stows that are coming to me in the mail.

Got my center back strap in and installed. The fuzzy bit has sticky and that is what I am using now, though I image it won't hold long term. Until then, no more back flipping down when I brake and freaking me out ;-)
