Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
I just stumbled across this thread. Sweet work guys. I'm pondering a LS swap. Where did you come across the motor?
We need to get all the Georgia boys together when you get this back on the road. |

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator. This will have a new gauge mounted in the dash (Autometer 2174)
Here it is getting ready to get the exhaust installed. The goal here is for the exhaust to be tucked up in the frame area. Remember how the exhaust was hanging below the frame, even though I asked for it to be above it? Keep looking... Paul at Conyers Muffler putting in work... That @$$ looks good...I am hoping to introduce it to a lot of people this summer. LOL ^^Notched the frame to make clearance. We will be boxing all of this in shortly. So no worries there. The new air lines will also run on the passenger side. Getting rid of the DOT PVC stuff and going with hard lines for safety and security. Flowmaster 70 Series.

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
I definitely agree. The motor came from Just Chevy Trucks. I got to hear and see it run, and it included the accessories and flashed and upgraded harness on my PCM

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
We got to have some of Walt's nephews (Nate) get involved (actually we needed them because our arms and hands are just to big to get into the hole to remove the bulkhead -AN fittings.
Brandon got involved with the rabbit ears. Productive day overall (yes, exhaust and fuel system completed in this one day). Check out the pics below. The tank and lines are not secured yet - will secure the lines today (rearward), as well as secure the tank itself. It will be very secure as it will be boxed in right here. It is canted to the side a bit because we are needing to put on the top and ratchet it down (it has the rubber tank strips in there, so they are pushing it up a bit, but that will be fixed when we bolt it all down. It will be beautiful once done, and clear the bed floor.

Re: Dirty Dianah (No)... Bagged 72 Stepside/LSx/T56
Don't know if you guys noticed that little red thing under the passenger side header, but I got an MSD Hi-torque starter because the original starter to the truck would not work at all.
It is powdercoated red, and has billet aluminum on it....just a very pretty piece!

thanks Shawn and DND. Big shout out to Walt for really making this project fun and sharing the vision of excellence with me. We are hoping to fire this thing up in the next few days
Here is a rundown of what is left: -Run airlines -Replace outer/inner rocker panels -Replace floor on passenger and driver side -Finish firewall -Patch cowl -Replace bushings with the new Poly ones that came in and replace cab -Final prep of frame -Put her back together and have a party
