That's awesome! Now you got to show us what you did to make the speedo work with the LS Swap!

I went with the Dakota digital ECD 200BT. The speedometer calibration in the PCM was already correct so when I hooked up the cable drive it was dead on. Yea kinda expensive just for a speedometer but it worked flawless. And with this new unit it can be calibrated from your phone in the fly even while driving. I mounted it up behind the instrument cluster just to the left of the wiper motor. Probably gonna do it again on my dads Yellow 66 truck.

Dang, I was hoping that you figured out the issues with the electronic speedo conversion you had been working on last year...

Re: 1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab
Installed. Set of performance Online 1-2 drop springs this weekend. The goal was to keep the current height. Because the stock springs were saggy and worn out. I used a 1” drop in the front and 2” drop in the rear. Not that expensive 199+ ride. The springs levels out the truck real nice. I drove it around a little mostly to go grab some take out. Rides real good. Next step is to replace the front shocks.
What are you guys using to stiffen up the front ends. I just have 15 year old yellow Monroe shocks on the front

Well there are not enough words in the English dictionary that I could use to express how upset I am about what happened today. Just another set back but I will save her. No Humans were injured during the events that transpired today

Aw dang, that's enough to make a grown man cry.
Maybe you could get it repaired with one of those paintless dent repair guys?

1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab Body Work
Well I went up to see my dad and hang out for Christmas since my family was out of town. We spent 4 hours beating the door out, and i sectioned the fender. I had a spare fender extension laying around so we put that on. We are working on a hood right now. That hood is straighter than my original but the inside of the hood will need a light blasting. There is some surface rust inside (which i hate). Might pull the front brace off (where blinkers are) and blast the inside of the hood and prime it all. Cab corner still needs some attention and the door is no where close to perfect but hey at least it will close now. My Pops has my welder at his house so no metal work right now. its getting to cold to paint anyways.
So I've decided to go with the factory 533 code two tone black and ivory white top instead of the factory 500 black. It's gonna be a while what's your take on the color change

Re: 1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab
I like the look of all black, but I also like the factory, two tone look.
Not sure if you've seen it already, but the Brother's Trucks Youtube channel has a great video on taking out the door dents from the door opening too far. Maybe there's a technique in there that could help fix yours?

Re: 1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab
That's a very nice looking hood. Not too often you can find an original in that shape. Also, I think the two-tone would look best.

Re: 1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab
This is going to be a big project. Cleaning up and reusing this original A/C setup up. I have all the wiring, control knobs, and vent. I realize that i'm still missing part of the puzzle, (Deluxe Heater box for A/C) but i am looking to acquire one. This vent is the correct 1966 dark fawn poly. 1965 and older vents are the medium fawn poly commonly seen inside the cab and doors. The fourth picture shows were someone marked that it came off a 65 but the evaporator could have but the vent is definitely off a 66

Re: 1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab
cleaned up and painted the A/C relay. This is a single pole double throw switch. I cleaned the contacts up real good and tested for proper operation. After i painted the lid, I put it back together. There is some pitting on the relay can but that gives it character.

Re: 1966 C1434 SWB Custom Cab
For the bezel, I will use the vent balls from this old GM under dash AS/C unit. They are a direct fit, and the chrome is super nice on them.

Getting the small bits painted up. This is the bracket for the thermal temp switch.
