Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
It's an Eaton-I'm not real sure which one-but it's off one of those little 3.8 or 3800 or whatever V-6's. I just picked it up 'cause the price was right, and to keep me focused on building a supercharged 292 for my Panel. I'm not saying that's the blower I'll use, but just seeing it sit there on the shelf every day keeps the dream alive
Oh yeah-I stopped by the machine shop the other day to visit with my blocks. They ain't done yet, but getting close. I sent two 292's in to be gone through.

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
I didn't want to say it, but it looks like somebody used that 215 for a boat anchor already.
Was there ever a 2v Rochester carb and GM intake for that specific motor and was it compatible with 250s and 292s? '72 SMOKER: That's no ordinary 292, is it?

Believe or not there was no rust under mud. Pic of a trunk filled with mud and after car wash. It was sitting in the desert since '78.

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
I had a 215 in a '65 LeMans. It had the same 1-barrel as the others. I think I still have the manifold in the barn.

Is that a turbo on that Cummins? And can you go BioDiesel? I think the only way to beat the high cost of fuel these days would be to go BioDiesel, manage a McDonalds, and then steal the grease.

Some good lookin' engines here, but haven't seen any with a/c. Still waitin' on Pritch's engines to return (maybe he will do a progress with pics?). Maybe get an autograph (sign the engine?) since the builder is a Salt Flats Legend! Lets see some more pics, it will keep me motivated!

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
I have a couple of questions regarding your A/C set-up. Did you have to modify the air cleaner support to accomodate the the a/c brackets? It doesn't look like you added a different shroud when you put a/c on, am I missing something? Finally, what aftermarket a/c set-up did you go with?

Re: Post Your Straight Six Pics!
If I understand your question, the answer is no. It is just spaced out from the head a little. The bracket uses the two bolt holes near the front of the head and the bottom of the two holes behind the #2 plug. One piece of steel stock goes from the front straight back to that bolt. A second piece from the top of the bracket goes down at an angle and is welded to the lower piece, just below plug #2.
No shroud. The '94 Cad DeVille pusher fan runs all the time the AC is on, which is all the time because it is an Electronic Climate Control from a '87 Lincoln Mark VII. You just set the temp degrees and leave it alone year round. The other fan is a '89 DeVille fan. It is on a 208 deg temp switch mounted on top of the thermistat housing and to my knowledge has never turned on. The factory temp gauge has just the "L" and "H". In this heat, it goes all the way up just over the "L". I love the unit, but it was far too much work to sqeeze it in there. Had I known, I would have used an aftermarket.
