I would never use an example of bringing home a 500lb chick. Maybe bring home Five 100 pounders instead? Too funny

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Hopefully this week I will be able to get the body off the 68 and start moving things over to the frame I am building. Then I will put that complete frame up for sale.
And one thing you guys might love. I am installing a Pan Tilt Zoom security camera in my garage so I can record the build. I will set it up so you all will be able to access it when I am working on my truck. I don't think that has been done before and should be pretty cool for yall to see. I will post up the link when I have it ready. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Jarwood.... Feel free to come on over. I will be pulling the motor and tranny out on Saturday. Ive got a fridge full of beer. Hopefully I can get a few guys over to help me out.
Alight guys... I have installed the camera. Before I can post the link up I will have to make some security changes in my firewall (the computer kinda... not the truck kind) and then I will post up the link. But here is a teaser pic for you.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
There are a few things that I would LIKE to do.... I really want to get this truck on the other frame so it is drivable. After that... I will start working on the body and doing the custom work I have been wanting to do. Id really like to shave the firewall while I have all of this apart. I might do that and the PB hood hinges. All the rockers and cab corners have already been replaced. there was a restore done on the truck about 6 years ago so its in pretty good shape.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
A camera set up in my garage would be really boring, I do more staring and thinking about how I am going to fabricate the next step than actual work, which is why this phase has taken since July. Should be cool as long as you don't pick your nose too often
I am using the stock cast iron heads but when I had it bored out I did go with the flat top pistons so I am just about 10:1 ratio. I will have to dyno it when I get it done because it would be nice to know.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
Truck looks sweet. You have made excellent progress. I started my 68 gmc a few years ago, but a flooded lake 2x kinda put the brakes on things while I remodeled the house. I wish you had that tranny in and ran it a few times. I need to get a new one and was looking at a level 3 (700hp) 700r4 from mad dog. Please let us know how it preforms. And if anyone has had experience with them, let us know. Keep up the progress and send a link to that camera.

Re: Project "Funky Monkey"
I have to work in the morning.... I should be home around 2-3 to start working on it. My Brother-in-law may be here trying to finish up the gas and break lines.
I will PM you my address. Its pretty simple. I was up your way last week picking up some stuff at YearOne. Do either of you guys know how to weld in body panels? I really want to shave my firewall while I have the motor out and I know I will burn a whole in my firewall. It would be nice to get someone over that could teach me how to do this metal work. Anyone else in the Atlanta area want to come hang out with us?
