I love the idea, but I think I'm going to put an A/C vent behind the speaker grill.

By the way, I love the whole concept of your truck.

Brake Switch

I mounted up a brake switch today. I'm not quite sure if I did it right, couldn't find any instructions. I assumed the circuit is closed when the pin is NOT being pressed. Here are some pics of the bracket and how I have it mounted, along with a pic of how I'm going to wire it. Please chime in and tell me if I'm missing something.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

The Vintage Air unit I have has the heater outlets coming straight out. I had the hoses originally running over the battery, it looked pretty crummy. Called Vintage Air to see if they had a specific connector. . .they didn't. Found these Gates 5/8" hoses (Part #28471) with a 90 deg angle and problem solved.

Now all my A/C and heater hoses run under the inner fender. With my luck they'll probably get punctured by a nail coming out of my tire eventually. Ha.

Is it OK for the heater hose and A/C lines to run so close together?

Very nice progress Groyd. I like the 90 hose idea.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

I got my headlights and tail lights all wired up. Tough to tell with a cell phone pic, but they're extremely bright.

Don't mind the grille on the wrong end and fenders lying everywhere.

I used this websites http://www.how-to-build-hotrods.com/ diagrams for wiring up all of my lights. Lots of good info for beginners. I ended up putting in relays for my lights and another relay for an accessory fuse panel.

My park light is still overriding my blinker, not sure if an LED load equalizer will fix it or not. Hopefully I can get to it Sunday after church if its not too hot.

Hmm i am having to recess the firewall back in mine. Same 00 5.3 motor, 96 long wheel base s-10. Ez kit. The napa mounts it calls for in the install manual for parts. The motor sets against the firewall so i cut it all out.. Your looks like you have about an inch maybe. Im curious how?

The ez kit had s10 frame to SBC motor mounts(they were tough to get on). I put LS to SBC adapter plates on the engine. I'm not sure where I got them from. Definitely not the NAPA ones he said to use.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

The bed is finally in primer at the paint shop. It's been there over a year now. Hopefully it'll slow down around there and they can take my cab and doors in.

Re: Be Gentle. . . I'm an Amateur.

Dropped the cab off at the body shop in November. Just playing the waiting game. Can't wait to get it back.

I picked up a big back window '57 3200 for dirt cheap the other day. I'll have a bunch of questions for it coming up.

One reasoning I am glad I can do my own paint and body work! I don't have to rely on anyone else's schedule!! I just found your thread last night and just finished reading it. Real nice build. I like the '57. My buddy has a '56 he's working on very slowly. I look forward to seeing you finish yours! Nice work so far.

I hope you don't get hung up in paint prison. That looks like a real clean 3200 you picked up.

Paint prison...I like that. I've been there for three years.

I'm definitely just gonna do the best I can on this new one. I can't wait to get it running.

Looks a lot cleaner than the homemade job I'm in the middle of putting on my '57.
