Curiosity satisfied.

Dino... How do you like driving a truck with the "manual" rack on the Dropmember?
Do your other trucks have a manual or power rack?

Hi Dino, I have a question for you,

Why does the front crossmember have a cut out in the lower sump area, as you seem to have this truck very low.

I am just about to bag my 63 long fleet & as i am in the UK i want to go as low as possible without purchasing a complete new front suspension and pay for shipping and import duty etc etc,

I am on 2" drop spindles, Any info would be great, Thanks Darron

Re: A Suburban Joins The Herd

Daren that cit out is to make room for the rack n pinion that the dropmember from Porterbuilt street rods uses. It is designed to lay the truck flat on the ground. If you cant get a hold of a dropmember then you could do a Z cut on the front frame moving the whole susp up a couple of inches. Not much cost here just a LOT of work. You can also section a out an inch and a half out of your front crossmember and get really low. Mine has a sectioned xmember and almost lays out up front. A little more work and it will. Over all the dropmember is the easiest and most effective but if you can't get one either of these could work. Check it out at porterbuiltstreetrods.com. You can also search the other two options on this site with the search tool and see how they were done.

Oh yea Dino keep it up. Buddy.

DARRON SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION,I STARTED THIS THREAD DOING A PANCAKE FRONT END ,THEN I SOLD THE TRUCK TO A FRIEND HE HAD IT FOR A FEW YEARS AND I BOUGHT IT BACKTHEN SWITCH UP TO ALL THE COOLEST D/M STUFF. SO TO ANSWER THE QUESTION I THINK YOUR ASKING ME ABOUT THE PANCAKE(STOCK FRONT END) THAT WAS THE OLD SCHOOL WAY YOU TAKE A SECTION OUT THE STOCK CROSS MEMBER AND MOVES THE SUSPENSION UP, HOPE THAT MAKE SENSE? ALSO THANKS JMEDERO

I do think dino has built up enough bad ass points to drive a focus and make it cool, not that he would......... But I bet he could.
