Looks Good! Are You Gonna Fill In The Top Body Line All The Way? I Haven't Started On My Bed Yet, But I Did Buy The Step Shaver Kit For The Rear With The Roll Pan. I'm Still Stuck On The Rusted Cab. To Replace Or To Fix? One Of These Days I'll Figure It Out. Very Good Work!

Re: progress pictures

Re: progress pictures
the hinges you could tape off the bolts too within reason offcourse but i have doubts if you can tighten the bolts enough that way.
maybe just save a bit of paint without hardener and mix a little hardener when needed too touch them up with a small oilpaint brush i used to do that all the time on big rigs but that wasnt realy detailwork

Re: progress pictures
just joined up yesterday..man you have one sweet truck..makes me want to maybe rethink how im going to do my 68..love the color..you do great work..wish i was down in al to see..question about the Zing,,by doing this did you still lower the suspension,,or did you Z it get away from it. looks good..oh yeah,,i think you made the right bed choice..if my 68 was a swb,,i would do the same thing..not sure a newer model fleet side would look right..

While I wouldn't do the late model conversion w/o all the extra work required to match the wheel openings, he's doing a killer job & it's what he wants. I'm glad he's sharing his progress w/us. It helps motivate people.

Re: progress pictures
You must have some big ones cuz you just hung them way out there on your first post. To each his own tho right? Mike has the right to put a port a potty turned sideways on the back of his truck if he wants. I personally dont care for the late body style bed conversion but he has done such a damn fine job with the rest of the truck im sure his final product will be just as kickarse! Keep on keepin on Mike!

Re: progress pictures
i think the person doing that could make some cash taking moulds of the finisched work .
its not that bad the waist lines match pretty nice with the old style cab and the newer style bed and the square wheelwhell grows on yah after a while . has anyone tried to lower the top part of the wheelwhell to about just over the top part of a 17 iinch rim and fill the gap above it, i would love to see a photoshop image of a chainge like that ........a lot of cars like some cadilacs had a a "round" wheelwhell in the front and a square wheelwhell in the back but it hid half the rearwheel on those models

Re: progress pictures
this is why no one likes 55-57 chev cars. the front and rear wheel wells dont match. (ok just kidding) i think mike needs to take all that junk from under the hood and put the 6 banger back in just like uncle GM made it right?
