Blake Shelton has one in the video for Ol' Red also. Someone already mentioned the '64 in Some Beach by him.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I remember now about that suburban in Back to the Future.
I missed the fleetside in the driveway.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
I seem to recall that one back to the future movie ended with a different year of carry all and the next one started with the same scene and it is the blue one and is supposed to be the same moment in time. Does anybody else remember seeing that?

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Found this on YouTube rbar. You see the burb first at about 0:50 on the top one, and at 0:51 on the bottom one it looks like a different burb. Then at 1:23, then shortly after. The end of the videos where the Delorean takes off, they are the same looking.
The video has both the end of #1, and the start of #2 playing simultaneously, so is a little confusing, so you may want to turn down your speakers. LOL They appear to be the same burb, but someone with a keener eye may verify something else. |

Re: 60-66's in the movies
That's really really funny that you came up with that. When I was talking different year, I was thinking 67-72 when I saw it full screen. I think right at 2:00 you can see the back quarter of that burb and it is a 67-72. Seems like they showed more of it in the full video.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Lousy writers destroyed a sweet 60-66 in the movie Super 8...why is it they always have to waste the classics?

Re: 60-66's in the movies
Stumbled upon some episodes of Adam-12, and about jumped out of my chair when they pulled up in front of the Universal Courthouse Square set, which is the subject of my primary diorama. This is what the building structures looked like in 1955-1957:
And here’s what the same buildings looked like in 1968. The fascias had changed but most of the structures remained intact: So then I started paying attention and noticed a bunch of 60-66 Chevy trucks in the background. Some are parked, while others are in motion. Here’s what I’ve found so far, in only the first 2 or 3 episodes: A nearly new short stepside across the street: A 64-66 long fleetside approaching an intersection: In the left corner is the headlight of a 1962 pickup that passed the patrol car. The shot flipped back and forth between cameras, only showing the headlight and center of the grille, both through the back window: Another long white fleetside, and not a very good screen shot: And yet another long fleetside at the curb: And finally here’s a panel truck sitting at the curb as they passed by: I’m hopeful to collect some better screen shots in the next few days. There should be a bunch available since at least half the show was filmed outdoors doing street scenes.

Re: 60-66's in the movies
All of the buildings were built from scratch out of styrene strip and sheet plastic. The street lamps are Lionel with different globes. The only diecast model is the 32 Ford Graffiti coupe. I think Revell released it as a painted kit about 10-15 years ago. The 49 Ford, 36 Ford, and 1960 Valiant are original AMT/SMP kits from 1960-61. The El Camino is a modern plastic reproduction kit, the Mercury is an MPC kit from the early 70’s and the Ford woodie (far right) is a Revell kit from about 10 years ago. Everything in the photo is 1/25th scale. Gort is also solid metal, but in my warped thinking I don’t consider him a diecast because he wasn’t a kit, he’s a solid chunk.
