Re: 24 years later....here we go
Started the AC kit today. Got the condenser and dryer mounted. Also got the inside unit ready to go in. Also ran some wire, hooked up fuel guage and installed the door jam switches...

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Just one of her out in the sun. I let it warm up good today and let it run a while varying between 1500 and 2500 rpm just listening to the engine...and I ran it out of gas. So to the store and 5 gallons later she's back in the shop

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Bennett 4GL not really sure on wheel/tire. Im gonna try to look at a bunch of trucks at the good guys show thats in fort worth in March. The real trouble is that I like them all....I really like the Billet Specialties roulettes but they are just out of my $ range. Stay tuned....!

Re: 24 years later....here we go
The Roulettes are really nice but your right they are really pricey. You have a good plan checking out some wheels at goodguys. I wish I could have done that before I went through two sets.

Just waiting on compressor brackets to get back from powder and the heat/AC will be done. Got stuff from GMC Paul today to overhaul my wing windows. Im gonna try to get alot of stuff at the swap meet in Decatur TX in a couple of weeks. We'll see....Im about broke

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Here's one of the unit and the ducts. Finally found the real use for duct tape. Lots of routes for the ducts, I tried to and was able to tuck them under real good so that they are not visible. Pretty cool to flip the fan switch on and get air out of the vents...

Re: 24 years later....here we go
I got the passenger side vent window done today. Replaced the glass with clear and a new handle. I read on here guys talking about how these were such a nightmare. The pivot rivet takes a little ingenuity but I found the window overhaul incredibly simple. I used pop rivets on the top two and for the four in the felt channel. Also used windex to "lube" up the gasket since it would evaportate and not be slimy, worked great. Precision gaskets help alot Im sure.

Most things are incredibly simple when one possesses incredible talent. I posses the ability to turn the most mundane task into a two day ordeal - and for some reason I still enjoy it.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
The pivot rivet is a little bit of a pain. I used a 45 degree punch to get the edges started to roll out and finished them with the provided rivet tool. Just take your time. I used a zip tie to hold the frame together at the top after drilling the two rivets out. Hardest part for me was getting the old glass out of the chrome frames. I am putting all clear glass in this truck and will have it tinted very lightly.

Re: 24 years later....here we go
Pulled the cluster out today and painted the needles (testor's orange enamel) fixed the odometer, and put a nice polished lens in it. I polished the lens with a microfiber cloth and some glass scratch remover that the wife had. Worked really good. Replaced all the bulbs with 168's and cleaned the contacts on the printed circuit. Im happy with it...
