Re: Project "Shifted"
Rob just my .02 if hes helping you build it an working around the house or a job to help pay for parts he will respect this more than a normal car. At least thats how it worked for me an a few of my friends when we were in school. Not that we didnt do dumb stuff but we had enough of our time an money in our cars to treat them better than most teenagers. My first car was my 78 an the lessons my dad taught me with it are invaluable now that he has passed. Just another thing to think about are the memories yall are making working on that truck together.
I can see why your worried too though since i have one reaching driving age in about 4 yrs myself. Maybe you should swap the LS for a I6 for the first year or two.

Re: Project "Shifted"
Jake pulled the factor inner fenders in preparation for the Hills tubs. I also started installing the rear disc brakes. Also getting ready to order the Accuair setup as well as the Holley accessory setup. Anyone know where a good place to order some bedsides and a front bed panel? I also need a good recommendation for a power brake setup?

Re: Project "Shifted"
IDK, but some say the factory hydroboost from a diesel CK or an Astro is the best way to go. I'd like to see you do that so I can watch, before I pull the trigger on it on mine.

Re: Project "Shifted"
Manual CPP or Wilwood M/C will do just fine, like on your S/C truck.

Re: Project "Shifted"
Modern Manual brakes stop pretty good? I've never tried the aftermarket master cylinders like Willwood or CPP, but back in the day manual brakes sucked. You would build up the old leg muscles though.

Re: Project "Shifted"
Check out GMCPauls or Southern Kentucky Classics. Both have really nice bedsides. I'm going with SOKY classics custom bedsides with no stake pocket holes. Truck is looking great Rob, you have made a lot of progress in a short time. Hope this means your keeping it.

That booster set up is nice, I like how tight it fits to the firewall.

Ordered an Entropy radiator and fan setup. Will be purchasing a EFI wiring harness, Vintage Air system, Accuair air mangament system and holley bracket setup in the next couple of weeks.

Re: Project "Shifted"
smokin build! I really like the detail. I wish I would find more builds with 1/2 ton C-10s that are leaf sprung. my 69 GMC is leaf sprung but will be on bags in the future.... just need to button up some other projects first.... keep up the work ! I know I will be referencing this thread a whole lot in the near future!
