Re: Whats up with Logan...
Hey it's Logans dad Paul....Just an update...
Logan is at it again. I'm trying not to let it overwhelm him, but its so much work...He has pulled, cleaned and painted the front and rear suspension from the 85 parts truck. The other night we were able to get the front bolted to his 66 frame. Now hes looking for a set of wheels and tires. He looked ups some 17s and 18s at Discounttire.com and was shocked at the cost...At close to a grand, thats a ton for a 16 year old... Here are some recent pictures... |

Re: Whats up with Logan...
I will donate the tires in 17 inch. I have 235/40/17 directional and 275/45/17 for the rear. you need 8 inch rims 10 for the rear would be better but it will roll a bit with a 8 inch. so a set of four tires with less than 500 miles on them the fronts are mint the rear as worn down by 1/4 .. sorry but they would never hook the power. The only issue you have to come get them as shipping would be pricey. Unless I can get out that way I can drop them to you ..
Look into the steel ralleys that jegs or summit sells just an option for lower cost. Paul the number I have no longer works

Re: Whats up with Logan...
Updates look good. Logan has been getting after it.
Steve - Props to you for donating the tires for his project. Paul / Logan - Go see Patrick Krauskopf at 7 Day Tire and Wheel, 101 Jack Nixon Road, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. 830-997-7475. He might have some used wheels or even could find you some. Patrick is my cousin, tell him Karl Kuenemann sent you out there. Hopefully one of this time I come down there, we could meet up and have a look at Logan's truck.

Re: Whats up with Logan...
As you can see I swapped over to a sticky tire and went tall in the front.. Silly TX and city driving the train tracks took out one lower control arm so I swapped out for tublar units and installed a taller front tire to gain some room

Re: Whats up with Logan...
Well, Logan is back at it...Its a long hard road especially since the two guy from the shop, that talked us into a frame off, are long gone...UGH! I moved the cab back into a good work area so we can start cleaning her up. We just need to get it to a driver state, won't be a show truck. He still needs a bed.
Oh and does anyone know what the markings on the trans tunnel mean? |

Yeah I'm glad hes back on it too...We've just been so busy and no funding. I have him sansing...thats free..lol...I think we need to trade off the LT1 and transmission we have for a carbureted V8...We need to simplify and get this done.

Re: Whats up with Logan...
Hey everyone, Paul (Logan's dad) here...I just figured out our username and password again...lol...We're still here. Lots of things have changed, not so much on his truck but in life. Logan turns 20 this summer and has been working in our Powder Coating shop. We did move to a new shop in a business park and we've been here around 3 years? We've been so busy that we haven't made much progress but haven't given up either. So much work, so little time and MONEY...lol...Logan is learning the PC'ing trade and running the shop before I get there. Logan still has BIG dreams for his truck and we will move forward again soon.
We did sell his Lt1 in hopes to find an LS motor/Trans etc. to make things a little better? He has a Grand saved up so far and I'm proud of him for that. So if anyone has any leads in the south central Texas area, please let us know...Logan is still so thankful for all of you and all the help and gifts and shares the stories all the time when talking about his truck... Any words of inspiration would be so welcomed... |

Re: Whats up with Logan...
Cool deal on the whole thread man! I'm not sure what pricing is like in your area but for me it was cheaper to buy a whole wrecked but still running and driving truck than what people wanted just for an LS engine and wiring harness. I ended up with a 99 sierra that was clipped at corner of cab and bed with salvage title that I was able to drive straight onto my trailer for less than $400 total, its the baby LS 4.8 but it will be plenty for the project it is going into.
