Rainy the beginning of this week and my oldest has an endoscopy tomorrow...
Still Shopping for deals on the big parts still needed, Ordering small parts, finalizing what I need now for the big block, picked up some needed tools today, and working on the parts truck so I can pick up the big block and other parts for it...

A set for a 68-72 Chevelle fit pretty well and will give you extra ground clearance vs. a set specific to the 68-72 trucks. You will need to do some minor work to make them fit as they exit right at the center of the trans crossmember. I also had a minor clearance issue since I was running square body clamshell motor mounts. The details are in the below post.

The big block Camaro version doesn't even come close to fitting on either side so I was surprised the Chevelle ones fit as well as they did.

What is funny is the truck version is $25 more money and has smaller tube sizes. Go figure.

The 2" tubes on the Chevelle ones are more suited to bigger motors & more radical 396's so they would not be a good choice for a stock or mild 396 or even a stock 454. Those would make more usable power with the smaller 1-3/4" tube headers like the truck headers.

Thanks, actually wanting ceramic coated only and found a set on ebay for 225 shipped that looks exactly the same as the listed ones...I have a black set that will be for sale that fits well...just want the ceramic coating and don't see paying 200-250 to coat a set when I can buy new for that and sell the ones I have to recoup at least half of the investment...likley most of it...

No sense in having everything look sharp under the hood and have a set of rusty headers detract from it and nothing makes an engine bay look nicer than shiny headers. I think I paid a little over $200 for mine and sold the old ones for $75 and the nice thing about Summit is free shipping.

Flowtechs look pretty good if you spend some time polishing them up. When you get them they will have white residue on them but Never Dull works nicely. this is the $265 set from Summit.

Thanks for posting to remind me of those...the swap to the BB has me re-planning a lot of things

Those do look good after the extra polishing and the fitment looks good. Can't remember from your build but how is the clearance for exhaust at the transmission crossmember? Th400? Are those the ece conversion mounts or something else?
I'd rather go with a known quantity for $40 more than risk fitment issues on the ebay set...and guessing that ceramic coating will be pretty cheap...

I have Hedman elite coated Chevelle mid length headers on mine and they look and fit great. Had to trim the passenger frame rail 1/4" for clearance but that is it. If you are planning on bagging the truck you should look into these. I got them from Streetside Auto for $300.00 shipped. Part number is listed in my build thread.

Thanks for all the info and encouragement.

Got a bunch of parts ordered today...grill trim, bezels, lenses, bushings, etc...

Also got my SWEET looking column in from Les (70shortfleet). It's gloss to match the wheel and since we're going with some other gloss black in the interior I think it's going to look great! He also did a great job packing it....now I have a crate to ship my tilt when I sell it soon
