Re: 56 project
Can you tell me how you shaved the cowl? Did you use two pieces of metal to get the curve or did you bend the metal and just use one piece?

Re: 56 project
Mike are you refering to the cowl vent by the window? If so I did each section individually, alternating side to side to elimanating warpage. Plus I only tack welded around it sence there is no stress on that part.

Re: 56 project
Well it's never finished is it? I'm still afraid of pushing that new hip to much, but I've been getting to a few things . I still can't get insurance for it because I don't have it kept in a locked garage. My regular ins wants 1800. a year for full coverage, so it looks like I'll be enclosing my carport and going with one of the collector ins. Heres some pics of my bumper and roll pan, and the inside work.

Re: 56 project
Man thanks for posting the pics the truck looks great. I have grundy insurance on my 55 210 and I love it. It's like 220 a year. I don't have any restrictions other than it be garage kept and I don't use it as my main transportation and I don't do that anyway.

Re: 56 project
I am not sure if I was watching a re-run or a new episode of the Barret Jackson auction and I was for sure your truck was on there at first. Similiar paint job and body styles. Had to do a triple look. The truck sold for $87,000. So now you not what kind of quality I think your truck is worth. In reality yours is probably better because you built it and it means more.

No that wasn't mine. I'm still trying to get mine finished. Been doing some work on the inside. I layed down some carpet which I took oit to day to get the edges bound. Made a new center console and started laying some fabric and padding on my kick panels and under dash covers. Heres some pics! enjoy

Re: 56 project
Well it's time to post up again. I have most of the inside ready to be covered. I put it together again to check fit. Head unit is wired speakers are wired amp needs ground wired then thats done. Center console is ready to go in, making billet gate for the shifter and need to make a billet cup holder. I made edges to cover my carpet at the step. I'm thinking of doing some burlwood painting on them and on an insert for the sides if the center console. If it turns out i"ll be taking the trim off the dash extension and guages and doing that in wood grain also. Head unit is a sound stream 7" touch screen, 10" pioner sub powered by a 1000 watt amp, MTX 61/2 -3 ways with an extra tweeters in the a pillers. I hope to be doing some covering this weekend. All the componets making up the back section are all seperates. Center console 1st then behind the seat sections, then the sub box drops in . Enjoy

Re: 56 project
Thanks I hope all this can help those of you in mock up. The bad thing is as soon as I finish with something like the dash, I think of another way I would like to do it. My wife is mad because I want to change and redo things. She told me to find another project so I can finish this and get my mind on something else. I said OK.

Re: 56 project
Nice work on the interior, did something similar to a 67 with the 10" speaker between the seats.
