Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Here a couple from my stable. The 52 Old Blue is my parts chaser and run around truck. The Burb is a current WIP. I have others also as WIP but on the back burner for now. I went ahead and added my 49 WIP as it is currently.

Thanks! That is its current state it's pretty much ready for paint but, I can't decide on a color it was going to be silver when I started the build 3 1/2 years ago but to many of these trucks have been done in silver recently.

Tim,

Welcome to the A D section from dry heat So. Az.!
Very nice build you have, can you tell me more about the hood peak and a finished (to date) pic of the hood. It looks like you filled in the cowl vent right?
How did you keep from heat warping the hood panels?

Thanks

The last pic is of the finished to date hood. The cowl vent is filled I bought a fill panel from *****in products to do that, because it was cheap ($20 if I remeber correctly)and had bevel edges to make it easy to finish. I controlled the heat by tig welding it with wet towels next to the weld and only welding small areas at a time and moving around to not get heat concentrated in one area, I still had to do some hammer and dollying bit not much. Here's a couple more pics from different angles;

Apparently the server software doesn't like cuss words but the name of the co. that makes the cowl vent fill panel is B i t c h i n Products

Thanks! I made it. I bent a piece of tubing to follow the contour of the back of the cab to create the upper section of the front bulkhead of the bed, that gave me a starting point to work to with the bed sides ... etc. It was a ton of work but I'm really pleased with the way it looks.

Those are the stock half ton GMC hubs caps, mounted to later model GM 4 x 4 Rally styled wheels. I made some adapters so I could snap them in place. I'll make a link here and you can take a closer look. I need to make some final photos. I thought I had them but can not locate them. I will try to get them done this week sometime and add a follow up note. Oh and thanks for the kind words!! Nice Panel! Wish I had one of them too!!

I thought I had posted my '54 on here already, but didn't see it while browsing through these pics. Very cool truck builds on here. Make me want to finish mine and get a Task Force pick up!
Here's ashot of the rear after I mounted the bumper.

Here's the front passenger side with a white wall just for fun.

Daniel U, I like how you have a roll pan and the bumper. It looks clean, and it's suppose to be like that. Nice work.

It covers the gas tank and cleans up the rear view. When I get a chance to start working on it, I'll update my build thread. Thanks for the positive feedback!

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Thanks FLAMES97
its a 1955. camaro clip in the front s10 rear. disc brakes front and rear. air bag suspension. 1 piece glass. power windows and seats. sway bars in front and rear. shaved handles and front turn signals. smoothed dash, cowl, firewall bed sides, and tailgate. 350/350 engine tranny. 18x8 front wheels and 20x10 rear.the list goes on but its a true father and son project that was completed in a 2 car garage. Everything was done by us including paint/mods/exhaust/wiring/glass/suspension. The only thing that has seen a shop are the 2 front seats.

That is the exact stance I want on mine when aired out. Do you have any pics of the rear suspension and frame area.
Again, My jaw drops everytime I see your truck. Nice work.
