Re: What parts aren't out there?

Is there a number to call or a website to go to in order to make comments/suggestions on the quality of sheet metal parts?

Edit: I'm referrig to Tri-Plus parts.

any vendor that carries the product should be willing to pass along your thoughts to the factory. Or pm them to me and I'll forward them.

I am having a little trouble seeing the detail on your wheel tub pics. Here are the ones I got in my last shipment...eight of them! See the bad wrinkles in the corners? Are they smooth on yours?
This has been an "on-going" problem that just gets worse!

Something along the lines of this would work for a Burb/Panel 1/4 panel... Just an outer "skin" so to speak, with the correct wheel arch(not the LWB arch) and the gas fill, that would go from the door jamb to the tailgate jamb...

Let me look into that when I get back to the states...I don't recall seeing that in inventory. If they're coming from us I'll show this to the factory owner tomorrow and see what their current manufacturing looks like.

Re: What parts aren't out there?

One thing I have been looking for are clear step side tail light lenses. I haven't found any (maybe I haven't been looking hard enough) or seen anyone mention this yet. It's a small part and should be easy to make...

Re: What parts aren't out there?

I think there is a big difference in reproduction/restoration parts and custom parts. Seems like thats two different markets some of yall are trying to tie into one. From what i understand more work needs to be done to many of the parts currently being reproduced to make them more usable as delivered. Then work on expaning product line.
That being said the blazer market definantly needs bedsides and as previously mentioned windshield frames.

Has anyone ever bought any Tri-ProAutomotive sheet metal? I am wondering about the gauge of the material is all.

A lot of the vendors here carry the parts and have for years. I don't want anyone thinking this is some new brand. The participation here is to try to find new ideas for the manufacturer and try to promote new items that will be coming to market.

There's also no magic- this development takes time once the decision is made to produce a part. That LWB bedside was already in the works as was the '67-'68 grille that I'll post pictures of later when I return to my hotel.

Performance style products aren't out of the question but restoration parts will always be where we spend the most effort. Some styling changes can be made in parts without a major investment others can't. I actually had someone at a trade show ask how much it would cost for a one-off set of LED taillights for their Torino....Thet would have been cool for them; but difficult for us to make our money back.

Re: What parts aren't out there?

Well I read thru this whole thread and nobody mentioned what I need for my next project. I am sure that someone else needs these as well. I have looked all over and cannot find them. 67-72 stepside step hangers.

I wish they would stamp the GMC chrome grill, eyebrows and header bar from aluminum and polish it, like the Chevy grilles.

What about a whole rear qtr panel for the 72 Blazer... (or has somebody else already said that). All I can find is a few small patch panels?
