Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R
Today we spent the majority of the day working on the mustang, but we did find time to pull apart the exhaust and seam weld it.
We also straightened out the muffler That is brand new pipe, just weathered. We can spruce it up for you though We also painted the tank, Tomorrow we’ll work on building the fuel system

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R
This is not my mock-up
But rather your actual Vintage Air evaporator installed we started building the fuel system, but are at a standstill. I had to order parts

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R
The first thing we did is fix the exhaust, the crossover was to far back and wouldn’t let us put the transmission yoke in
Then we had Dheil tire bend up some 2.5” tailpipes to our specifications The end of the frame needs to be trimmed once we get the box on The harness had EV1 (car) injector plugs on it, they needed to be changed to delphi (truck) The EV1s are much taller, we tried them but the crossover tube for the fuel rail was to high and interfered with the engine cover

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R
We drilled and tapped the water pump for the steam tubes
Installed both the oil pressure and water temp senders we had to buy a brand new starter, I didn’t have one that worked. We also installed the torque converter bolts And we built an engine ground

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R
Looking good. What did you have in mind after you clean up the pipes? I used Rust-Oleum barbecue paint on mine just to try it and I'm pretty happy with how it's holding up. The semi-gloss looks a little nicer than flat black header paint.

Re: 1950 Chevy 3600 Woody R
a muffler shop I have used before simply uses aluminum spray paint. it stays on and also stays the same color. just don't spill gas on it cause it will come right off.
bbq paint seems the better choice and also comes in a few colors. keep posting, cool to see the progress pics. |
