That is great to see if move under its own power like that. This is an awesome build!
I think the stance looks fine. I am a 4wd kind of guy though, so my opinion probably doesn't count much. LOL Unrelated question for you if you don't mind. How do you get the YouTube videos to show up in your posts like that? Thanks! |

That's what I did, and I just got a blue link. That was the first time I have uploaded a video to YouTube, so maybe didn't do something right. Seems to be working though. Thanks!!

It seems that all you will get in the box you are typing in but when you upload it the system will identify it and show the youtube window in the post..

looking at the door and cab line and following it back along the bed, it looks like the bed is high in the back and the bed is too close to the cab. Is that just the photo??

I am really hung up on the stance. I want it to be more level and maybe a little lower. So I am trying to get as much weight on it as I can so I know how it is going to set. My bed also needs quite a bit of work an dI have to figure out how to run the gas filler through the role pan or do away with the role pan and go with a bumper like I originally planned. But the role pan is kinda growing on me.

Digging the flag inspired paint job . Look more and more like a 64 than a 94

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)
Hacked up the bed of a doner truck to get some parts to fix the bed where a the previous owner had mutilated one side putting in cadallac tail lights. I have to get a few more parts but then off to the south salvage yards... Oh and put rat poison out because it houses the biggest fattest rat I have ever seen. It is the size of a squirrel.. I have to get inside and get the late 60's low back buckets out of it because they have got to be worth something. I am not telling my step-son that he was sitting in the cab with the big thing when we loaded it on the trailer...

Worked on filling the factory gas neck hole and also the new gas fill location in the role pan. No pics yet but hopefully will have some by the end of the week.

Painted the firewall under the inner fenders. Started prepping the door jams, firewall and dash for paint.. Ordered the paint and prep stuff today, planning to shoot it all on Sunday if everything works out...

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)
Tried to shoot some paint on Sunday and it was a disaster. Either airborn particles or the wrong hardener.... sanded off what I tried and will try again later. Buddy of mine has offered his paint booth so I might take him up on it..
Halfway done with the Scott's Big Back Window kit... Got the inside cut out and hope to finish it tomorrow...

Caprick-up looks great, best Hybrid I have seen that I would drive....If the fuel fill in the back won't work caprice wagons were the same style tank filled from the left. 1st page I thought only thing missing on this build was the big back window in the cab... BAM....you got that 2...Nice work...Ed.

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)
Well, I bought a house and have been putting a lot of time into it. i had to lean toward the hobby that makes money instead of costing so much..
When I ran into issues with the paint, I decided to get the cab totally ready.. I have the big back glass kit all welded in and cut out. Started working on the filling it in.. Next cab corners then I should be ready... Paint just will not lay down in my open top, open side, dirt floor shop.. So I have to take a guy up on his paint booth.. But that means the cab has to come off AGAIN, or I have to trailer it up there.. Oh bought a new Travel trailer too, so the wife made me gathe rup my project and straighten up the back yard...

Re: 1964 Caprick-up = (C10+SWB)*(94 Caprice 9C1+LT1)
Here are some pics of the BBW. It was not as easy as i thought.. I started filling it, now off with the bed and take care of some minor issues with the cab corners.. Replacing with new metal..
Its lake time too, so not much time to work on it.. But keep me motivated!!!

Booth s the only way if you have access to one. Trailer it. I can't imagine moving a cab with fresh paint... Yiiippes!

E911manager, I know you won't be offended by this question.
Why is it that so many people want a big back window 60-66 and the 67-72 guys are always looking for the small window cab??? In Arizona, the small window cab gives me a place to hide from the sun...
