Re: slammed 57

Went with Marman clamps to change out the mufflers (if I get tired of it being to loud) and also cut the old style exhaust flanges out ( Always had issues with the exhaust flange gaskets or the flanges them selves bending and not sealing right) So I cut the ends off and putting Marman clamps there as well. They seal great and last a long time. also going with these industrial flex fittings

Re: slammed 57

practiced tig welding with silicone bronze and making some pie cut fittings so i can get the exhaust over the rear axle and out the back. I may try some 308L ss tig rods to see the difference

Re: slammed 57

before I install the exhaust system , I decided to stiffen up the frame mid section and fabricated a trans mount as well.

Re: slammed 57

I like the additional support. 2x6? Post some more pics of the other end if you could. Your exhaust going to tuck up along the bottom of it?

I went with 2x4 and centered it on the 2x6 rails so it would leave a inch above and below so I can run air lines, brake lines and electrical in a continuous straight line

Re: slammed 57

whole new respect for the guys that build exhausts for a living. this was my first time building a exhaust system . tried hard to go over the axles but there was now way of doing so with out raising the bed more that what it already is. but its done. next on the list is gas pedal and firewall brake and clutch assembly.

Re: slammed 57

Had cut into the recessed fire wall and section out a little area for the lokar gas pedal would only reach 1/2 throttle. After the sectioned area I have full throttle no problem. Also installed the pedal assembly. I also ordered today wilwood front and rear discs/calipers as well the master cylinder. So Iam lookin forward for it to get here.

Re: slammed 57

The wife says” why you keep starting at them, they’re only brakes” big sigh, she’ll never understand. I always wanted a set of these, needless to say I’ll be busy all day tomorrow putting them on
