Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

Very nice. I have seen some vehicles that have had the drip rails removed and looked good, but I think a TF looks better when they are not removed.

Completely agree on both points. I have seen some nice shaved drip rails with 1/4" round bar welded on and smoothed to create a slight lip, but decided to keep the rail completely.

Nice and smooth until the exhaust and license plate are integrated. LOL. Probably in the lower section of the bumper. It just looked darn good with nothing, but gotta keep it legal.

Decided on 1961 Impala tail lights. One on each rear fender.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

Impala lights should look cool. Will you do a single on each side, a double, considering a back up light as well? Possibly a high Mount brake light somewhere?

Just a single on each side. I like the looks on the Apache HammerFab won SEMA with in 2019. Not sure on the backup light yet.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

If you can provide some details on how that rear bumper was made..for example is it a stock bumper that's been hammer fabbed?

The front is 51 Caddy. The rear is off the front of a 51 Caddy too. Just the ends. The center section was made along with the top. Here are some build pics.

The ends are from a 1951 Cadillac front bumper. The center and top sections were made.

Re: 59 Apache/C6 Corvette build

now that is a tight bumper. on the roads around here the body flex would likely cause some scratching.
looking good.

Good point. I agree. Rubber pucks mounted on each fender to prevent touching in extreme conditions will keep it from touching. The frame is pretty stiff, but worth putting in protection.
