Re: WTB magazine ad

see ten, I think I have spent maybe an hour on the internet looking for that ad. I think we should have a poll tallying up the hours spent looking for that ad. Dont tell me I am the only one looking. However I have found alot of cool other stuff.

Re: WTB magazine ad

I appreciate everyones help in helping me to find this! I'm sure that sooner or later it'll surface again. In the meantime I usually check Ebay every day. The problem with that is these things are usually scattered throughout so many categories that there is no way to keep em all checked. On the bright side I have picked up a lot of vintage mags and have got to read some really cool articles. I've found reviews of Yenko cars and heads up comparisons of 454 Chevelles and 440 6 pack mopars. I've also got mags with reviews of Shelby cars and the 69 Z28. Not to mention the dealer ads for Nickey Chevrolet and Baldwin Motion. As of this morning I've scanned over 300 ads that I probably would never have done without this search. I like scanning the ads so I can share them with people who otherwise might never have got to see them. I've also scanned a bunch of old Harley Davidson ads. I'm sure a lot of these Johnny come lately "riders" have no idea that HD ever produced anything that looked like this.

Re: WTB magazine ad

I can`t remember the exact spelling, but AMF had those made by Ameritucci(or something) of Italy. The Sprint 250 was a respectable competitor in it`s day.So was the Rapido 125 in it`s class.Sexy clothes, for sure.

I saw this van packed with 25 people. When I asked about the ad the doors flung open and they all skidattled like dust in a windstorm. What is it about this ad?

I can`t decide on the Supermuff or just a Muff-mate.The Supermuff has a nice shape.

I got something to camp out in when I`m on a hot trail for the ad.You gotta be able to pack up`n`go at a moment`s notice...

Re: WTB magazine ad

I can't believe how tough this ad is proving to find!! I have seen some ads over and over again but never the one your looking for...Hmm... I smell a conspiracy I did notice a big stack of old National Geo's at work a while back, mostly from the early 70's, didnt give them much thought until I came across your journey. If I get a chance I'll try to thumb through them a little harder, in the mean time keep all the cool old ads comin guys ... Mike...

Re: WTB magazine ad

That's a cool ad! Do you think you can scan it again with something else behind it to see if you can get the waves out of it. That's a Dave Deal piece. The same Dave Deal of Cartoons and Deal's Wheels. His work can still be bought here. (Oh and the 7 spoke wheels are cool too aren't they)

Re: WTB magazine ad

I`ll try scanning it again.I have an idea after looking at Deal`s artwork. If you don`t find the ad just do what others have done in your situation, just scribble up your own ad...

Re: WTB magazine ad

I have also been keeping an eye out for it. I recently found this ad on Chevy trucks that were imported to South America and other foreign places. I would love to have one of those step vans with truck front end! The trucks have a tailgate like a stepside and 60-66 style fleetside tail lights. I could see that step van painted up like an Honest Charley's delivery van!

The step van is definitly interesting. It seems like there used to be someone on the board that had pics of a firetruck with a pickup frontend. It seems like they had it in their avatar as well.

Re: WTB magazine ad

Petersen's just reran that pro-trac ad in their newest issue. They also printed the Hickey sidewinder winch ad where the 69-72 blazer is hanging from a tree by the winch cable. I've also found a pro-trac ad.

And I still haven't found the truck ad I was looking for.

I also see this thread has had over 4000 views now. Tim I'm hoping it's not just you and I doing the searching.

I just happened to notice the 4,000 after I posted. Now it`s page 10,too .I worry this WTB might not be taken seriously since it`s become more than just a WTB.I hope not.

"HEY!!! If anyone sees an ad like this please respond to this ad...SERIOUSLY!!"

I need to get that mag.My ad is an original.

Re: WTB magazine ad

I wonder if this post will qualify for the longest post to be kept alive by the fewest number of people. (As if we would want to be associated with anything like that). But yes seriously this thread is real! Yes, I am actively searching Ebay on a regular basis as well as keeping this thread TTT. I have also followed every lead that people have suggested as far as contacting differnet ebay sellers who might have it. I appreciate all the help that has went in to this quest! I'm sure somewhere out there in somebodys closet there is a magazine with this ad in it just waiting to be found.

I have found tons of 2nd gen Camaro ads!
