70-71 Valve Cover Decal

Reproduction 8:350 valve cover decal found on some 1970 and 71 trucks. I had these reproduced for my own restoration building off the work of member Steve Hafner.

EDIT 3/27/23: I recently had the chance to get up close and personal with an original (almost completely) intact version of this decal. Since I've got a new build going, I took the opportunity to photograph it and revisit our reproduction. Our first attempt was based off old GM media and off angle pics of barely there survivors. This "Mark II" version is a much more faithful reproduction with regard to font and dimension. It looks like I can't delete the pics below without contacting an administrator. Just know that the pics below are of our first attempts and not the new better version.

Revised (Improved) Version $15 shipped

Thanks,

Brad

Re: 70-71 Valve Cover Decal

These look really nice. Were these made to withstand the engine compartment environment? As I understand it, these only go on the passenger side (I've seen other threads about this). Also, are the originals a sticker or a silk screened thin piece of metal with an adhesive backing. Akin to a an emblem.

Thanks. They do only go on the passenger side. They are discussed in a few threads here on the site. I am not sure about the construction of the originals, and have never seen one in person myself. My opinion is that they were "stickers" on par with the other decals in the engine compartment at that time. With regard to the heat resistance of these decals, I cannot say with certainty. I had a long conversation about this with the printer during the planning stages and the most heat tolerant stock that matched our design requirements was chosen. I have 180 miles on my Blazer (all in summer in Georgia) since completion and it shows no signs of degradation or release at this point.

Re: 70-71 Valve Cover Decal

I had run out of "final" versions, but due to continued requests for these and the Blazer Jacking Instructions Decal, I did another limited run. So I have a few more of these available.

Re: 70-71 Valve Cover Decal

I hate to even bother you with this question but it seems like you may have the lead that I need. I am wanting the same decal only with 400 instead of 350. Any help or leads would be appreciated.

You wouldn't happen to have any with 327 on them would you ?
