Ahhhh, ok.

That car has GOT to be so flippin nice to cruise in and judging by the looks of the area, the environment is cruise friendly as well.

Ok enough with the other rides. I lost an hour this morning and by the time I got to Pomona the parts/vendor spaces were sold out! So I spent some time on the project (seeing some of these project posts I really wish I knew what I was doing, well bare with me as I just want to get this thing on the road). Finally started on the bed, I think when I get this done I will be over the hump! (pics of the 67 packed for Pomona & the bed floor installed)

yah the 55 is deffinately nice(i would cruise it if i had it), and for the cruising environment of san bernardino/highland area it's not to bad minus some messed up streets here and there

I think they have a 5" Backspace. (ordered for my 72 project, so I had to use spacers for the 67).

Been working alot again, so not much done on the project. My union contract with my company is up early next month (I hear we may go out on strike over health care, overtime pay etc...so I may have alot of "spare" time to work on the project). I want to get the bed on, then pull it apart and have in media blasted.

Next up:

Install bed (media blast)
Black prime entire truck
Install air ride setup
Install Drive shaft
(have buddy run brake lines, wire harness-get it fired up!!!)

Ok, thought I was going to have some free time. But have been working 6-7 days a week 12-13 hrs a day.

The only thing I've done is spent money on the 3 projects. Purchased a blue folding buddy seat, put new door handles, locks, ignition & Bezel, new turn signal lenses & put the correct 67 vent windows in the white 67.

Got the 72 Cheyenne on the road and have been driving it to work for the last few weeks. I bought some stock engine parts (air cleaner,radiator hose,oil fill and riser), black door panels and wood inserts.

I did get the smooth tailgate for the N2deep project. As soon as I can get a day to work on it I should be able to get the bed together.

Something is missing from my garage! Ok I've been working so much I decided to have a shop finish it off for me. I just spent the last 2 days ordering parts to get it on the road (wow, never knew how many things you need when starting from scratch). All I need to order are the dash gauges and air ride setup.

Color choices are: Mercedez silver, Lincoln Navigator silver (little darker) or black.

Also interior: black, red or brown

Most people that I've talked to say silver w/black interior. My only concern is if this body style will look good in a solid silver. I've seen a few and they didn't look right, but maybe with my stance, wheels and mods it will make the diff. If anyone remembers the black truck built by Sport Trucks by Dean, that is the look I'm going for.

How could anybody forget that truck? That is THE truck to me. It may not be this or that but it's the truck I've think will define the 67-72 Chevy IMO. Clean and simple. I've been wondering what happened to you. Good to see we know you're still on it, otherwise you'd just have to keep us settled down with pics of the car. lol

Silver is a delicate color. A timeless color but delicate. When I say that I mean, finding the right textures, body mods and accents to work with it (to really make is stand out in a positive light) are critical. I would consider the subtle tone on tones, for instance color vs. chrome vs. mouldings. To offer my opinion (I've already started that haven't I? lol) I'd go for the darker/greyish silver, some chrome here and there and have the window mouldings in black all to create just enough contrast for the eye to distinguish all the different blends of color but not so monochromatic or contrasting to take away from your theme here. That's just the exterior.

The interior, since you mention Mercedes, would be perfect with a brickish red or saddle brown type contrast against a grayish silver exterior. I think that color palette just speaks volumes as classy. I'll post a picture of some DSE seats and imagine those against a grayish silver exterior as if you were standing alongside the truck looking into the interior. I have pics of a couple silver trucks but will hold back for now.

Thanks for the pics of the black truck. I think I have "copied" all his good ideas and added a few (one piece windows, shaved bumper and cowl). That was the truck that started this all, the simple mods (and not so-drip rails). My truck will be a little lower, have bigger wheels and more interior & engine compartment mods. I just hope it all comes together and looks as clean.
