I havent seen it in person yet, still waiting for a response with a time from seller. He said he doesnt know the engine or trans information so all I have is the picture. So what do you guys think this might be worth? Says it runs and drives and it is currently registered. When I gather more information I will share. Thanks in advance.

I guess I could give a range on value, but why don't you tell us what he's asking and we'll tell you if it's worth it.

That's cool! That's exactly what I want to do with mine. I need to get it registered. I want to roll into cruise nights with all the bought muscle cars and turn some heads. I figure appropriate attire would be my greasy Big Ben overalls and welder's cap (with bill turned up,of course)

Tim, yeah I was thinking not to taint the opinion pool with the asking price. Ha-ha they are asking $3,500.

Re: Tow Truck/Rollback/Hauler Pics

In my opinion that might be a little steep......buuut it looks straight and rust free. If it has A/C, maybe a big block or at least a 327 even better. It may not really be that far off, seems like I'm usually a little behind the times. I think I gave 2200 for mine and I think that was too much but I just had to have it. Bueaty is in the eye of the beholder so if you like it, want it and can swing it get it. You may wish you did later. I like it.

Yeah I was thinking a little steep too. A lot depends on engine, trans, tire, rust etc. Why do you say 327 even better?

Re: Tow Truck/Rollback/Hauler Pics

Oh I just meant 327 as in more original. Instead of it having a 350. So really a 396 or 327. Nothing wrong with a 350, I just think a 327 is better. It doesnt look like it has 396 badges. I guess the main thing is that it runs good, engine size should probably be secondary.

OK gotcha. I don't think it should have 396 badges though, right? I have another 68 with factory 396 and it doesn't have any stinking badges.... ha-ha

Re: Tow Truck/Rollback/Hauler Pics

I sold an older dodge cummins truck over the last weekend. Here's what the new owner showed up with to haul it home. sorry for the crappy cell phone pic. Its a 67 c30 with a 82 suspension swap. 292 4spd. he said it got 6 mpg, but hasn't left him stranded yet. It has a home made rollback bed on it. failrly cool truck lil rough around the edges but it gets the job done.

Re: Tow Truck/Rollback/Hauler Pics

Was just down in Flagstaff AZ a couple weeks ago and saw 69/70 tow truck....forgot to go back a get a pic. If anyone is around there, its on the road heading to the observatory. Looked like a nice red one too....kinda rare to see those anymore!

Re: Tow Truck/Rollback/Hauler Pics

Has anyone ever built one of these? Just looking at the baby blue and white truck in post#227, and I like that design. Are there any other pics out there of that rig? Anyone have any experiance using a rollback and can offer pros and cons to certain designs?

That one there seems to be a ramp truck. I have never used one before but I guess they are pretty nice. I worked at a gas station and we had a 99 Chevy 3500HD with a 19 foot Jerr-Dan bed on it and I liked the way that truck works.
