Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Went down to the DMV...and finally registered my truck....

The frickin 'Governator' took $226 of my hard earned money for that thing !!

And the tag is only good untill FEB !!

Man the lady at the counter real had a hard time...this truck came with the DMV paper all printed up from the guy.

However the OG owner donated to charity, then this guy bought it (owns a lot), then I got it.

So the pink was signed 3 times, we had 3 transfer forms....it had her going crazy !!

Now, I just got it get it running !!

So far...that little truck in my avatar has cost me $600 + $226 = $826

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Did some more laying under it today but this time took measrements and drew up my new frame rails for my back half. I will build the whole thing on a bench with my axle and link suspension/ ride height already figured into it on the bench, so when I get that done I just cut the rear of the frame off weld in my new section and boom a shortbed is born.
haha right.
Hopefully going to find me some 5x2'' Steel at the shop by my house this week. The front section will be 5x2'' to slip in the factory frame rails and the C notch and the rear of the frame will be 4x2''.

Thought I scanned it and put on my build tread but, I didn't.
I will have to find it.

Thanks! So far it is what I expected. It will be getting a paint job, but most of the rust areas have already been replaced by the PO. The family approves! I will probably start a thread, but it isn't going to be nearly as much work as most of the build threads here. A lot has already been done.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Oh no you din't. I've been to your compound and seen things. You sir, are the picture derelict. Care to tell the board what you're working secretly on ? You sure don't post pictures of it...

Don't worry, I won't tell what I saw

Beats me. This engine was priced right. The truck I'm building now is going to be my daily driver. I will sell the Toyota when I get the 63 on the road. I drove my last 72 100k miles in 4 years and every since have missed having an old daily. The 250 inline 6 cylinder with 3.07 rearend gears ought to give good mileage for those duties. I might put the small block in my dually. Who knows.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

All kidding aside, I won' tell what I saw. He's very tight lipped about his projects during the buildup stage. I think he's planning to do one long post of the whole buildup when it's finished.

You will be blown away by it and that's all I will say.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Over in Garland (Dallas). Poor guy lives in deep city environment. I didn't see a single cow or tractor anywhere near there. I sat behind my shop looking out over the pasture and drank heavily when I got back home.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Did Scotti cut his hair to help hide the secret of his project...that way no one could follow him to this secret, cowless environment workshop of his?

He is like the Batman of hot rodders...some where in a hidden garage.............

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Started goin through the new rear end... transferring everything from the old to the new. While prying off one of the rusted drums, one of these popped out and came about half an inch from my hand.

I'm not afraid of spiders, but that had my heart racing.

Re: What did you do to your truck today?

Here you go Scoti. Here's your old engine. Pictures are weak though. I just did a little hose off and paint job. A few powdercoated pieces sprinkled around. I didn't feel like spending too much time on this part of the project. Still lots left to do. I'm pushing to have it driving by Thanksgiving.
