Thanks everyone. the job is working in a warehouse. no cars or trucks. so far on the first day cant say Im all that excited about it. the guy who hired me, said it was a 8-4 with no lunch everyone worked through their lunch. which is no problem. come to find out just as im getting ready to leave for the day. my manager (not the guy who hired me) says im suppose to stay till 5:30 2 of the nights mon. and Wed. and till 6 on thurs. followed by, that was the reason we hired somebody. I feel like I was just sold a piece of ****, and didnt know it. till I was already out the door. oh well its a job right.

Called CPP today, Cant say much good about that either. Apparently I don't know what I'm doing. this guy says it leaking cause theres air in the line. I should bleed them. I say. Thats what im trying to do and its leaking. He says once I get all the air out. it will stop leaking. I could tell the conversation was going to go any where, so I thank him for his time. Ill let you guys know what I find out. Im going to relax tonight.

WOW, A wife that will help? My 8 yr old daughter and 17 yr old son will help all the time, but the wife wouldn't be caught dead working on ol' gray!!! I'm jealous bro! Good luck with the job man.

I agree with the American chopper bs. I was pumped last night to finally to get to watch an episode. Too bad it was a rerun and it was a 04 Christmas one. I saw the preview before the commercials and it was the same ol fighting bs. So I ended up watching cake boss. Funny how that was much more entertaining. I also hope Pauly takes off and does well. Good luck with the brake line battle!

I really wish I had known this info before I paid the money for the kit, but live and learn. Thanks for the info anyway. Do you have to do anything with the safety switch when bench bleeding the master cylinder? CPP sells a plug that supposedly makes so you don't have to "reset" the switch when done.

well thats the problem Im having. it wants to kick in the safety switch. it recognizes no pressure and activates the switch. I been tacking it apart to reset it. I didn't know about the plug. this is the first time iv even had this issue. I dont think I had the M/C completely bench bled. either that or my cheap ass autozone M/c is not working correctly. That maybe the the price I pay for cheaper parts. the last time I re bench bled the M/C and reset the switch, is when that line started leaking. I have tomorrow off and no place to go, so I will get to the bottom of it tomorrow and let you know what I come up with.

Thats the one I have, Iv used them before with no problem. but this one is being a difficult.

I removed that rubber plug. and drilled and taped the hole to a 6-32 used a set screw with a little thread sealer/locker and then filled the rest with epoxy. I'll wait for that to set up and try again.

Sorry its taken me so long to get back to the truck, with the kids and the wife off for the holidays, its hard to get anything done on it. but I did get to work on those damn brakes this weekend, and I think I got it. as you know i pluged the stupid rubber thingy that was leaking all the time, replaced a cracked line and have had to re tighten every connection I made. This time I had to bleed the master again, and took the proportion valve apart one more time here are some photos of that. this time I did it still hooked up to the M/C

with everything out of the valve you can see right through it.



next was the main plunger, stick it in and make sure that concaved part is right in line with the switch hole



then goes in the rear spring thing



then the front one, followed by the nut and washer.







then the switch



and finally the rear line adapter, and screw in the line



ok, now its time to see if they work with out leaking. started bleeding in the rear, got some air out, wife says the pedal is getting firm. Then it went down to nothing. Im thinking, what the hell now. Check the proportioning valve, its not leaking, WTF! I pulled the cap off. out of fluid. SOB filled it back up and a quick on the truck bench bleed and were back in business . finally got all the air out. then she says they feel firm and then go soft. we bleed them again, no air. firm then soft. well we played this game for a few more minutes. I could see the rear calipers working. I spun the rear rotor while she slowly applied the brake, they grabbed fairly quickly. when I let go, she said it went soft again. Then I noticed it, the calipers were clamping hard enough to move the other end of the rotor out and thats what she was feeling. The pedal wasn't going soft it, would just move down a little from the rotor moving back and forth. I took a lug nut and tightens up the rotor to simulate the wheel being bolted on and the problem was fixed. check everything again no leaks and it looks like everything is working. will see if she stops under her own power in a few days. tomorrow Im working on the door panels

Door panels:


I pop rivet the chrome trim on because my new panels were thicker than the orginals and they wouldn't fit.



When I had my seat redone I had the guy make me some door panels to match my seat. there held on at the bottom with 1/4-20 chrome allen head bolts



Found some cool handles and cranks at a street rod show. unfortunatly I had to do some modifications to them to make the, not so rickity.



each piece is held on with set screws, so I counter sunk each piece, and tapped it out to a bigger screw, so the set screw would hold real good and not turn inside the other.









I wanted something a little diffrent the the stock armrests. It turns out the the 55- to sixty something bolt right on in the stock location and look like a custom piece

I would think about 25 - 30K in CA, but I think you guys are a little lower in other parts of the country.
