Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
Oh, and a short introduction if that's fine.
The above '66 GMC is still a little bit of a mystery for me. I'm hot-rod savvy, so here's what I know (so far); It has around 5K miles on this "build." But the true mileage is unknown to me. As is the original engine/transmission and many other details. It currently has a Chevrolet 350, BowTie Overdrives Stage 2 200-4R (care of me), 12-bolt Positraction rear end, power steering, power brakes (still 4 wheel drum), and an aftermarket/universal A/C system. Everything else is kinda a crap shoot. The reason I call this my blessed 66 is because I paid nothing for it. Not a dime. My great uncle purchased it new in Alabama (no title, one of my dilemmas), gave it to my grandfather in the 80s, and he bequethed it to me in 2005. No matter what kind of headaches I might have on the way to fixin' the ol' truck up - I feel blessed to even have such a nice truck. Thanks! |

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
I agree, everything about it looks great and having family history back to new makes it even more special. Good luck on sorting out the paperwork. Hopefully being a family vehicle will help.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
Pulled the truck out of the barn to wash the engine bay, figured I'd take a few pics because it'll spending the winter inside and lighting isn't good in there.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
At the bottom under the quick reply box is a button that says "go advanced" or something like that. when the screen loads next to the smiley button is a paper clip. Click and a window pops up. You can upload 5 pics at a time.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
I've got this truck in its own separate thread, but here ya go. My dad's old '65 Short Stepside he built when I was a toddler. Sat on a '61 chassis. 350 Small Block, TH400 trans. 15x10s, 295/50R15's.
This last one was taken in about '98. No longer with the torsion bar front suspension from the '61. Had a coil-spring 6-lug front end from I believe a 71? C-10. Also didn't have the wides anymore. Was sold in 2005.

Re: 60-66 pictures thread index
I'm not the biggest fan of 60-63 wraparound windshields, but it looks like it's a very clean truck and looks like a very nice start. Nothing better than father son-bonding over a build. Good luck! Hope to see a build thread on that one.
