I've used CPP stuff & would again. I just wonder where were they when we started this quest?

The engineer that I've worked with only stepped up to the plate because everyone on this site & 73-87chevytrucks got involved.

I really, really hope to provide those pics you all have patiently been waiting for by this weekend if ma' nature cooperates. It might be hard to see the big brakes.... you'll have to get past the freakin sweet Dropmember & those 20" Coys first .

I am a vendor here and I see this as advertising, something I pay for. Just because you didn't list a price doesn't mean you aren't advertising the kits. You gave every detail and option on the kit and listed Who you work for and where to find the review, so we know were to get them and find them advertised.

I am all for competition, but you just hijacked this thread, and you aren't a supporting Vendor.

I got some pics yesterday & will get them up tonight. Some of you requested pics of what the kit came with so I wanted to mention the cool thing about this is if you have the resources, you can get stuff used/cheaper than what I did & cut costs if necessary.

The pics will be of the 'kit' I opted for, everything going together, & one or two of the assembly w/a wheel/tire installed to get an idea on clearances.

wow you guys are amazing.... cpp is a site supporting vendor.. ie someone who pays to keep this place going so folks like 68laydout have somewhere to ***** about them.
I can not believe the replies in this post.. DKN I personally apologize for the flaming you have received and hope you do not get a bad taste for the site due to this.. it is fully against the rules and just plain hateful.

The reason DKNs name was not red was a miscommunication between us and cpp.. even so the replies are shocking..

With that said I am going to speak on the level those bashing will understand
cut the sh!t, act right or accounts will be suspended. Review the rules, use the review forum for reviews and if you feel the need to go off on someone for posting shut the thread and report your concerns to a staff member.

apperently Liz hasnt bought many parts from CPP and dealt with their stellar customer service. the way he was treated here was no worse than the way they treat their paying customers............suspend me if you must, but thats the way i see it

If you have a problem with a company, there is a REVIEW area of the site for such issues. Hijacking a thread and using inappropriate language and behavior is not the proper way to get the word out. If you have an issue please use the review forums or bad deals forums instead of cluttering up threads with it.

Also one last thing, please drop the attitude and respect the staff. We work harder than y'all will ever know to keep this place available for you all and dropping us attitude for enforcing the rules isn't appreciated.

That's SWEET SCOTI! I'm really anxious to find out how much $$ that cost? I have many of my own thoughts on this subject, but I'll keep them to myself. I'd love to make my own kit like that not only for $$ savings, but mechanical and political reasons as well.

My set-up was $1300 delivered. That included the larger aftermarket rotors vs. the GM C5 rotor which added $360 to the cost.

Big 13+ inch brakes won't be cheaper than the standard 12" HD option if that's what your wanting. But, if you can find the right 'used' vette parts, all you'd need 'new' is the hub & caliper adapter (<$500). There's a bunch of guys yanking their C6 rotors/calipers off for the latest cross-drilled high end kit & then re-selling the used stuff on Craigslist & e-bay.

its amazing how much that looks like my baer kit. Its almost an exact match. My kit is disassembled now, so i will post some pics this weekend for comparison. These are DEFINITELY a more economical option than baer.

And for me, I would have spent the money for a Baer kit only to have to find another source for the solid rotors I prefer. I loved this deal because you pick what you want.

You can even go w/a 14" rotor & C5/6 caliper if you can find a wheel that would allow it.

Maybe I'll upgrade the calipers and rotors on my vette, and swap them over to the truck! (2 for 1 deal!)

when you say C5/C6 caliper do you mean that either caliper will work? Or are they the same?

What was involved in modifying the spinde? Just a little grinding to let the caliper bracket sit flat, or did you have to drill new holes?

Are these kits available now? Or when will they be available.

From what I've read, C5/6 calipers are the same.

Spindle mods included cutting the original caliper ears off, drilling out 2 of the splash shield holes to a larger size (.500"), re-tapping the 'new' larger holes, & clearance grinding for the adapter bracket bolts.

Also, the original spindles required removing more material when clearancing for the adapter bracket bolts vs. the dropped spindle.

I'll see if I can find out what their production status is. I haven't mentioned their name or supplied any contact info/links because I feel it might be construed as 'semi-advertising' for the manufacturer. I'm hoping they'll become site supporters once they're ready to start promoting the product line.
