Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
225/75/15...which is 28.8" tall. I think I checked and they should be the same height as a 22" tire/rim that will eventually go on (245/35/22, which is 28.75). havent tried looking to see if that size is available. im not too concerned though because i will probably z the truck and 4 link the rear next year. i just want to get it on the road to enjoy it before i start doing major work to it.
thanks

Yeah. Lookin' good. Wish I had time to work on my 70 Longbed...but with school and a couple of other projects, the pickup sits...
BTW...have you had any $800 or offers on the truck since you started rebuilding it? (You still have the PO selling info in the windows) Mike

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
some progress on the motor!
got the timing gears back on, timing chain cover with new gasket and seal. installed new (painted) water pump, and just got the intake on with new gaskets and bolts as well. i did the oil pan about a week ago, and broke a bolt. so i had to take it back off and figure out how i will get it out lol. i figure i can finish off the top and then get back to the oil pan... some silicone here.. and here.. new gasket.. tada! i know its blurry, but you get the idea lol

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
thanks fellas, i know its boring progress! i need to turn it up soon, i got a little burned working on it but im getting the itch again to get it a lot closer to driving!
while still needing some more parts to finish the motor, i figured i could finish up the panhard bar. i picked up a a 30" solid bar to extend the short cpp one i have now, so i unbolted the passenger side ta to get the panhard bracket in. well i notice its 2 different nuts first of all, but while putting it back together the nut only went so far, then stalled, with an impact gun. so i tried my own strength with a ratchet, and the ratchet broke. i figure somehow the threading is either stripped or something, soooo, i just cut the u bolt in half to get it off. would an autoparts store carry a u bolt that big? i think its 3/4" thick and about 10 inches long maybe? i really dont want to order another u bolt and wait on it to get here, just more and more setbacks!

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
well, i went to o reilly this morning and got the biggest supsension u bolt they had, 9/16" thick, 3 3/8" axle size (i think) and 10 5/8" long. they hang down a little further than the other side, but they look like they will work. they are smaller diameter than the one i cut out, but 9/16" should be fine, right?
i got the rearend REALLY close to center, so i will tack weld the extension bar on the panhard, cycle it a few times to make sure its good, then weld it up. should have some pictures this week.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
took care of the panhard bar today, got it all welded up and painted it black. big difference, before the bags set super crooked, my passenger side tire was touching the inner fender in the rear, and my shock tabs was totally out of line. heres some pics..
driver side.. passenger side.. axle with it aired up to about 40 psi pic of extended panhard bar.. shot of driver wheel (i know its flat lol) passenger side..

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
That's cool. My time may be tight as I have a interview with a oil company on Monday, I may be doing the 60 hour weeks pretty soon. I'll still be at the shop on weekends though.

Re: Project 67 DRGNWGN - 67 Burban!!
Kev,
This is the second time I've seen this and I am surprised no one else saw it. Is the metal rubbing on the bag? There was another shot from a little different angle a few pages back and it sure looks like it is. Isn't that bad? Mike
