We just got back home from the 22nd Annual Corn Festival & Car Show in Stanton, KY. GUESS WHAT!?!? Ole Copper got Top 50!! I'm stoked, and totally addicted to the car show scene now. Not that I wasn't, but this definately gets the juices pumping! There was a couple other 67-72's there (all of which won an award) a 70, and a 71. Yeah yeah, I took pics with our camera. Hope yall appreciate!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Pics of the 71 and 70 that were there. I liked how the 71 had a tach like mine that they mounted into the gauge cluster instead of strapped to the column like mine.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Thanks John! Nah, it's gonna be removed soon, wanting the sport chrome rear bumper like you got. Also to go will be the hitch, it's for the taking $50 plus shipping. Bumper is for sale too I'd take $30 for it plus shipping, but probably be better if local pickup on it. Of course all mounting hardware would be included. Much more to do, but felt good to be recognized.
On another note, put the other truck up for sale in an ad on here. We'll see.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Ya gonna buy all new or what? I think the sport bumper is alot sexier...
I'll keep an eye out for brackets/bumper at the junkyard if I ever get back there. Ive gotta hitch that works with sport bumper, its not very strong just enough for small trailer or something And how do you know my name!!!! I guess i'll have to put my name on here as well raymond

Thanks 71 Sleeper! I think so too. Don't see them that often, except on general lee's! And they paint them black in between the spokes.

John says in that thread that a manual 3spd truck the wire should run outta the back of fuse box and to a switch on the tranny. Auto's are off the nuetral safety switch located at the base of the steering column somewhere against the firewall. I'm going to investigate of mine I'll take pics of what I find. BTW got a phone now!!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Well, got some progress done. Finally got my clear marker lights in and put on. Also been working on sanding the bubbling clearcoat and spraying some new on the bed rails. Recently celebrated my 27th b-day got some cash for truck parts. Currently in the middle of redoing my exhaust!
Got rid of the glass fuel filter... Heres's a laminated sign I made from my old NOS visor box (pic 4 u Rick!) what the bed rails looked like before... After!!! One clear marker in

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
More......
Before After The PO had 4 different screws in the marker lenses!! Of course I went right to Lowes and got some new correct stainless steel ones. rusty exhaust before a teaser of what's to come. Painting new exhaust with high temp rustoleum black (except for glasspack). Going to remove the manifold and redo it too, with all new gaskets and donut gasket. BTW started this thing up when I cut the old exhaust off at the down pipe and WOW!! This thing sounded like a cammed out big block!!

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Make sure you wipe it down with something like mineral spirits to remove the rust preventative coating they put on the pipes and scuff it up with some sand paper to give the paint something to hold on to. It won't stick well to smooth steel.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread
Thanks! Yeah, I can't wait to hear it. Also have a HUGE chrome tip to finish it off! Trying to take my time and do it right. Painting it all with high temp paint, new gaskets, and going to take off the exhaust manifold and clean it up and paint. Will take longer, but it'll be sweet in the long run.
