Re: My winter project

I just looked at you build, and i'm concerned about the way you applied the panel bond. It looks like you only have 1/2" TO 3/4" overlap. This will be prone to fail.

Tom, I had no idea that body and paint would be that expensive.

Hemi, I hope not that would be a lot of wasted work. The body guy I got the adhesive idea and step pliers from has made repairs like this numerous times and it has worked great and has lasted for years. please let me know the (prone to fail) Thanks 7D2N

Thank you. I have gone back and forth on pretty or plain. I'm going plain original.

Re: My winter project

I'm starting bucket seat repair, the seat part will need to be replaced with some metal repair and new springs. I would like to save the backrest part do you think it's possible or complete new seat foam.

Re: My winter project

I'm not aware of anyone selling just the bottom buns, it comes in a set. Also, a couple of months ago, no one had any in stock, they were all on backorder.

Re: My winter project

I got on the backorder list for seat foam and covers no turning back now. I have a couple of areas that need some metal work addressed but for the most part pretty happy with the condition.

I'm fixing some of the seat frames problems. Does anyone know the gauge of the bottom springs?

I'm going to try to save both hatches, they need a fair amount of work. Here are a few pictures.

Re: My winter project

Was it common on the Blazer/Jimmy for the frame of the seat get all rusty like that? Do trucks with buckets have the same problem, seems odd to me.

I can't say for sure because these seats are not original to the Blazer but maybe because the foam was molded on the seat frame that looks to be uncoated or prepped metal. I saw a thread that someone here made the skirts that were rusted away so it does happen. My guess would be the same with pick-ups.

Tom, I purchased them from Classic Parts. They shipped from the manufacturer. (PUI) I think they fit well.
