Drilled out the spot welds on the passenger side rockers. Lots of rust inside

The B pillar isn't connected at the bottom. Just need to repair a little rust.

The northwest c10 group is good for motivation to get out and drive and meet other local truck guys.

I did stop at the Triple X last summer during one of the runs, but my truck wasn't drivable that day.

Accept C10,20,30 K5,10,20,30 suburban, blazer, shortbed, longbed, fleet side, step side etc. 1960-1987. If you had a C50 they would accept you. Just an informal group not a club of people that like Chevy and GMC trucks.

Third door has a big dent and it twisted the door structure.

So I decided to remove the skin to untwist the door.

It decided to remove my skin too. Automotive karma?

After some hammering I got it to look better. Still need to shrink a couple spots that oil can. But may save the door.

After hammering the big dent out there was a little oil canning so it's stretched a little. I haven't got it done yet so I will let you know when I'm happy with it.

Getting the hinges mounted into the suburban. Doing a lot of measuring to make them the same as the other side. And since that was a few years ago I need to remember what I did. I feel this setup is stronger than aftermarket suicide hinges. It is connected at the bottom hinge, in the middle at floor height and at the top by the window. Then I brace it with 2x2 tubing up to the roof.

The door jamb is only set there until I know it is correct.

Made some more progress today. Got the 3rd door swinging suicide.

This is the inner door bracing from the ford door.

This is where the hinge box intersects with the floor. I cut it so it could be welded on 3 sides for strength.

Here is the lower hinge welded to the edge of the floor.

The hinges look funny but they are straight.

Been working on some rust repair.

Under the 3rd door was gone so I did some patching.

Then I needed to work under the right front door.

The floor and support are gone.

Now the support is back.

Got the floor cut to fit.

The bent edge between the floor and firewall is rusted out. Need to make this as it is a major support so the floor doesn't dent where your feet go. So I bent two pieces of metal and plug welded them together so I can attach them to the floor and look original.

Still working on the front floor so no finished pics.

Great work! Rust repair sure is a bad one to get through. I always have to push myself to keep at it or it could just get sat off to the side.

You must have a big rust problem too. Got distracted from the suicide door because the B pillar wasn't connected at the bottom. Figured I would set it in place first.

Sorry my ADD is acting up. Needed to work on my other truck. Gas gauge quit working and the replacement part wasn't the same so I decided to change the fuel tank. But the old filler was in the bed wood so I had to change that. Then I needed to figure out where to fill it without ruining the paint. Here are some pics.
This is the old bed.

Lots of bolts.

Filler behind the left taillight.

The new wood is Padouk.

This is the Boyd Welding tank.

Relocated fuel pump to front of tank.

This connects the filler in the stake pocket to the tank.

Final coat of varnish goes on the wood tomorrow. Next weekend I will reassemble everything then I can get back to the suburban.
