i have a few areas that i need to still work a bit, but overall the fix is in. Honestly the hardest part is getting the panel to separate, AND anywhere that they would use that damn "bond", that really sucks! It sticks together and is not easy to separate, heck it is almost easier to remove spot weld areas. This is how it was for me at least.
Now i must work the inside area... this is where i get a bit nervous. The outside part i just did is just one cut and match that was short, the inside, well that is a longitudinal cut and i am not happy about that... but quitters never advance .. so .... lol This weekend you may hear alot of screaming from Washington State!! |

The patchwork on the front looks great. I'm glad I didn't have to do that area. It looks difficult. Keep it up.

Now for the one that has me worried a bit. Any thoughts here are welcome. So i am going to do this patch, but trying to keep the passenger visor area as is because there is a panel behind the small holes that i want to keep.

Ok, well so the inside rust repair was not really that bad, just had to make sure i made small adjustments until it fit good, really not bad. Thank goodness! Now it is cleanup time and start the filler part....

But I will say for those considering doing the complete inner...stop, measure thrice, then re-consider. I found the inner patch panel to be too short in the A-post area. The original piece reached further down and tucked into the A-post with a complex lip/bend; the patch panel was way short, ended up burning a lot of time cutting and bending small patches out of stock to tie everything in. Another consideration, when you cut across the entire inner roof area (opposite of the window lip), the roof panel will sag making the final fitting a real bear. I'm sure my inexperience played a part in the circus but...just a suggestion. Cheers, 30f

So now that i have the cab getting closer to being done, i need to now get to work on other things associated to the cab - Stereo box, Bucket Seat locations for reference to where i may install the roll cage that i want but not sure of yet, wiring, and so on.... lol you know, nothing short of $$$$.
Just ordered my TMI low back buckets in black with red stitching... ouch... but Summit was cheapest with free shipping. |

LOL not that anyone really cares, i just realized i am not a premium member... damn sad of me. Well that just got taken care of.
Anyways, well so onto the build. So i have the inside windshield area and header will be done today. I plan on install a headliner anyways, so that will help hide my not so great body work. LOL Order the TMI Classis low Back seats in black with red stitching and they will be here Monday. Autowire wiring harness is on the way. So, now my delema... My plan is to carefully set the cab on its back gently, and get the underside ready for Custom Coat bed liner. i just need to figure out how far to come up. Then flip it back to normal and prepare the inside for the Por 15 poring. It is funny, i ordered 3 quarts of por 15 from Summit, when i got them, one had popped the lid partially and por 15 is everywhere in bag they sent all three in. So i called and explained my issue, so they sent another 3 quarts, no cost. So, now i have 5 1/2 quarts of Por15. So the entire floor, under the dash and possibly part of the firewall are going to get painted with Por 15. This will then leave me with just finish body work and paint which i am waiting until i get all body parts on and test fit and ready, then i will paint at that time. Gotta love these adventures we get ourselves into. People ask me, "So, after this are you done"? I laugh, ya right, getting the truck done is not like finishing drug rehab.... that rush will always be there. I have 1969 LS that was done a few years ago with alot less $$, so maybe it will get some upgrades, or .... i really like 70's Novas or ...... |

I understand that feeling, i look over what others do to keep myself motivated at times when i just feel like i am spinning my wheels and not getting anywhere. I was really like that when i was doing all that damn Rust repair!! Thought i was going to loose my mind honestly. Now it is starting to get to the fun but also expensive part(s). LOL
